they’re not royals anymore; therefore, they’re just a rich couple having a baby So even royalists like Mali shouldn’t give a shit now tbh |

I wasn't, really, but it just shows what kind of character he is. I could understand him being a bit miffed if she cut off all communications with him after they'd been getting on quite well, but maybe she realised what a twonk he was after she met him F2F as well as being occupied with Harry. |

Been a while since the other pillar of this thread got a look in. In a written statement, Priti Patel has announced that the government will legislate to introduce first past the post for mayoral and police commissioner elections. Quote: In line with the Government’s manifesto position in favour of First Past the Post, which provides for strong and clear local accountability, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....sorry, that wasn't a joke? I mean, seriously? Quote: reflects that transferable voting systems were rejected by the British people in the 2011 nationwide referendum Err....10 years ago, for one body. And I think there was some nonsense about the NHS at the time. Probably not the shittiest thing she's proposed of late, but annoying none the less. Bah. |

I Googled it, and the independent said this: “ The occasion gives citizens the chance to reflect on the dead, consider their life and work and perhaps even meditate on their own mortality.” Pretty sure the last year has been reminding people of their own mortality more or less constantly. I don’t begrudge royalists that this is significant to them, but when you think of the hundreds of thousands of humans that have died in the U.K. of covid it just seems odd to make a fuss of one man who lived a long, long privileged life. |

An ex-colleague of mine who's also an ex-servicemen and a staunch royalist has been posting his thoughts on the prince's death on Facebook. I don't think he reead what he typed before he posted the last one. I'm guessing he might have had a couple of beers as well. Attachment: FB post.jpg

Citizens, Check the Boundary Commission's proposals for your constituency here: https://www.bcereviews.org.uk/ Looks like North Oxon is being divided, just when my MP was really making a name for herself. |

I didn't watch the Speech but I'm fascinated by this shot. Charlie and Will look like they've had massive falling out on the way to a party (and we know this is the stock image that'll be used whenever they have a tiff), whilst Camilla seems to be the only one who's enjoying a lovely day out. The thing that has annoyed me to an extent is that this speech was really the audition for the Big Chair, and it was delivered terribly. |

We're having a party on the Wednesday for family and a few close friends as we weren't expecting anybody to come to Barbados. This has now morphed into wedding 2.0 though. BBQ on the Thursday for those that are still around and fancy it, then just chilling with family for a couple of days. I've taken the following Monday off to recover. |

Dr Zoidberg wrote: What are you all doing with your double bank holiday weekend? I'm half tempted to go to London to watch the flypast Darwin has a jubilee party at school before they break up, and it’s fancy dress. Luckily they’ve expanded it out to fairytales in general as it said to dress as kings, queens, princes, princesses, dragons, etc, so we think Darwin is going to go as the wolf from Red Riding Hood. I was going to use the Willy Wonka coat to build a Prince costume (by which I mean The Artist Formerly Known As) around, but the boys got sick and then other stuff happened and I couldn’t get to it. For the weekend itself I’m hoping to finally get to see my Ma as that kept getting cancelled due to Covid, illness, etc recently, and she’s in for big surgery tomorrow, but she’s insisting she’ll be well by then. Trying to stay hopeful for that, and hopefully will have a barbecue (disposable because I wimped out of making a choice, finding decision making difficult at the mo). |

HazMat's year groups have been given different decades of Brenda's reign to dress up as. So one is going as 1990s mel B, and the other 1970s Dee Snider. I don't understand it, either. |

A bit late for a major rebrand, after all. Still, all hail Queen Camilla! Quite strange being on holiday and getting the news whilst idly checking my phone in a restaurant. A table near me started playing the BBC coverage with sound on and then having to explain it all to the waitress. End of an era. |
