Ah bloody hell! I get it now.
It's not crosswinds, it's just the "gain" of the prop plus the positive feedback caused by the drivetrain.

Brilliant, thanks for the link.

I can't believe they haven't built another yet, ideally one with two props turning in opposite directions to cancel out the gyroscopic effects. Theoretically how fast could it go?

I'd guess the power output increases linearly with speed while the drag on the rest of the vehicle increases exponentially.
I think the article said they reckon a maximum of 3x windspeed for that model.

Anywhere in the northeast is excluded.

I like to imagine you finishing every sentence "...why-ey, mace", though.

I also assume your only talking about England here otherwise a number of other people may take exception to that.

On a blog I read, an American has written a letter of complaint about how they're currently displaying suits of armour: in front of a techno-style multi-colour board. I've not been there, but looking at his photos (linked in the article), I'm inclined to agree that it looks a bit 'Saturday Knight Fever'.

Can't seem to find the pictures, but his letter is far too reasonable to be taken seriously.

No, not The Hills Have Eyes.

You've got a wife beater on so your frame is on show and you're wearing aviators coz you're cool?

My frame is always on show! A pal said today that I'd look good in aviators. Not a shades fan though. I like the eye contact. I'm like an invading marine in that way.

Note to any future housemates: if you want a massage and hire a masseuse to call round, please ensure that you are in. And that she's hot, obviously. Just had to send one away because I wasn't expecting her, and my housemate wasn't in.

Saw woman B today, but she was with a group of other people so couldn't say a lot about what happened on Friday night without awkwardness occurring. I have messaged woman A on facebook to test the water.

I'm sure this isn't an appropriate action, but then again, I'm a big fucking idiot.

At least spouting this off here is better than putting it on facebook.

I agree, its far better to spend your time on facebook flirting with a married woman then acting like a nutjob, when eyeing up women who are also on there.

Woman B WAS married but apparently isn't any more. Hence I've always seen her as off limits before Friday. So they're both single, both ace, and yeah, I'm kind of like the kid in the sweetshop, but after getting a bit overflirty whilst drunk with woman B in front of woman A, I have no chance with either. I reckon.

Plus, woman A is my friend on facebook, woman B isn't.

Work continues, and I'm getting into the swing of working in the office. The quarterly reports of the funds are quite interesting, to say the least, and everyone continues to be friendly, helpful and very professional. Even the American fund managers that call up have a nice chat with me. I'm really enjoying working again, and I wouldn't mind getting into the industry. I think I've got another week after this one, so I'll ensure to circulate my CV and email the owner telling him how highly I regard his team or somesuch. Running out of stuff to listen to on the train, so might catch up on the Archers again.

It would be nice, really, if couples getting married would provide some indication of who else they have invited so I don't have to make a fool of myself asking if someone wants to share a hotel room only to hear that they aren't going.

This sounds the exact opposite of my new place. Everyone openly moans about how much they hate it, a lot of people swear really loudly in the office, the office itself hasn't been touched in around 35 years and the other person that started at the same time as me is really doing my head in.

On the plus side.. I sit opposite a girl who used to dress up like a Klingon for charity. :S

This came up on Twitter: it's a visualisation of the spread of Wikipedia's articles on history. Note that the year counter is obscured by the controls.

The most interesting, and perhaps unsurprising, part is how Anglocentric the English Wikipedia is.

I get unnerved that the wife does it all the time, but apparently preggos can't help it, and since she never used to belch before getting up the duff, I'm inclined to forgive her.

However, for non-pregnants, you should throw stones at them, or at the very least, gravel.

I had a Google account which I tied to my domain email address. Then I set up Google Apps on that domain. It was fine for ages.

Then there was a recent transition of the free Apps to the paid-for Apps platform, and since then I keep getting a stupid "this email address is used for two accounts, a Google account and an organisational account" page, with a few options. Usually I just take the "Gah, just sign me in to my organisational account" route because that's all I bloody want, but it's getting more and more frequent and annoying and stops me doing some of the administration for the Apps.

Anyone know what I should be doing here? Why do I have to give it a new email address? Why doesn't it let me just merge the two? Or simply delete the non-organisational one? Or let me see what information is in each account? It's STUPID and it doesn't really seem to explain stuff, despite having loads of WORDS.

Got my one to one consultancy meeting in the next hour or so with the new company's HR bods.

Will probably be put on 30 days notice.
