Errrm, ran the marathon, I suppose. I was pretty chuffed with that. Otherwise I'm generally satisfied with life, but I wouldn't presume to exude 'pride' at myself.

Things that I am proud of that I have achieved:

1) Being a father, hanging on to a girlfriend for 13 years, and making the choice to move to a bigger house in a nicer area twice.

2) At the moment, growing my own veg.

3) Leading the UK Q3 TDM side to the final of the ClanBase Nations Cup

4) Being such a good Q3 coach that ALL the best sides wanted me to coach them

5) Running quadnation.com and quadnation radio and getting told how good they were.

6) At the time, having a job paying £35,000 when I was only 24 (ignoring a factor of a thousand you could almost swap those 2 around now, and that's only with over time)

7) The appearance of this house (or the parts that are finished anyway)

8) My ability to pick up most things quickly

9) When my kids do anything that gets them praise, I love that.

10) When British teams/people win stuff that I have decided to follow/support/watch on TV

Malc

I told a bullying friend at 2nd year High School was violently monopolising my time to fuck off after two years of socially retarding my life and making me live in anxiety, which made him cry as I was his one last friend and beg forgiveness. Then I told him to fuck off again.

That was pride-worthy. I was a very meek individual when I was a kid, y'see, and it was when I finally learnt to start sticking up for myself.

Fuck of David. David Hoare. I could make a joke about your surname, but I didn't. Because I'm better than you. Twat face.

Still feels good.

I haven't even tried to maim or murder anyone yet.

No, seriously. In the vast majority of alternative universes, I'm currently imprisoned for so very many brutal murders. And in one I'm a clown!

Also, lots of little, complicated things I've done and my general track record of (eventually) doing the right thing. And I'm proud to know some of the people I know, even if that sounds a little weird and leeching.

I made a boy two years older than myself cry. I was in second year high, he was in fourth - and a lot taller than me. He wanted my friendship because I was easily cowed and he was a bit of a sadist, plus I had an Amiga and he hadn't.

I'm quite proud of making up a new character this evening: Surprisingly Evil Sheep. I was kind of stuck for the subject matter for a Computer Arts Project piece that I'd already sorted out the structure and general steps for, and, for some reason, ended up drawing an evil sheep. That's what working late does to you, kids.

I killed a bird today. It was writhing around in agony on the floor, dying. A cat must have got to it, so I stepped on it hard and broke it's neck, putting it out of it's misery.

I'm not exactly proud of that but it's definitely left me in an odd mood today.

Just thought I'd share.

haha that makes it sound worse, especially since I was going to say it was going to go on their mothers birthday card. I'm most proud of winning the West Hertfordshire Boy's Brigade Lego competetion when I was about 9, with an impressive beach scene complete with Lego pier and lighthouse. Everyone else just made something using the proper Lego instructions.

Maybe I should be worried that nothing else I've done in the twenty years since can match that moment of triumph. Maybe.

Upon a general request directed at the audience from her, I drew a doodle of Patti Smith playing clarinet at Meltdown festival and gave it to Patti Smith, who quite liked it. Only three years ago, guv.

Quite proud of that. But not overly.

I'm quite proud of some of the stuff I write, but I'm not ready to show you lot yet.

I'm very proud as to the set of friends I've acquired and retained - a good half of them from High School. ("Obvious age disparity joke," - ed.)

My mum had the opportunity of entering me into Holmfirth's lego compo, but she forgot to. When I saw the winning entries, I was really upset because mine was way better. A chunky practical lunar rover with big wheels and a science lab which housed a moon buggy and hatch. Top notch. And the prize was a fiver, I could have won! ("Other obvious age disparity joke," - ed.)

Yes. My Grandad died as a result of it. Not due to intentional overdose. Very not pleasant indeed.

I didn't know it was possible at all.

Was it due to a gradual build up then CUS, if you don't mind me asking? Its present in lots of medication isn't it.

Gradual build-up, aye. He used to take stupid quantities of the stuff, as did all of his co-workers. Worked for the council, an accountant (I think). Long hours, pub at lunch, pub every night. The dangers weren't known then (or not to his office at least). He wasn't the only one to die or be critically ill in his office, at the end, my Gran told me. I'll have to ask my Mum for more details.

It takes a lot of paracetamol for that to happen, so don't be afraid the next time you have a headache.

Forget Jammy Jim, I've just landed my biggest ever contract. Enough work to keep me occupied for most of the Summer without having to worry if I might have to revert to stacking shelves at Waitrose.

So now I'm feeling quite pleased with myself, oh yes. Big job though so abit nervous!

I think you are safe on the prescribed maximum dose providing you don't mix it with alcohol. Paracetamol and alcohol don't like each other and should never ever be mixed.

My Grandad never did this. He drank a lot (not A LOT), and took lots of paracetamol. But one he did in the pub and the other in the office. Similarly, my Grandma (his wife) was critically ill because of the same thing, but thankfully far less so, and is still with us. Just in case I didn't clarify that, which doesn't change the truth in what Chinny says.

edit: he died 24 years ago, incidentally.

I didn't mean to imply he was taking both at the same time. But taking paracetamol up to 4 hours before having a drink can cause harm. It needs to get out of your system totally before you can drink.

So if he took some tablets in the afternoon then went to the pub at 5 then it would be bad.

Yep, almost certainly so. My Grandad and Grandma used to run a pub together* and thought nothing of finishing work (in my Grandad's case) and heading for a few pints before dinner.

* CUS TRUFAX: which was later demolished, along with the house next door in which my Mum was born, so that a McDonalds could be built. I was 17 before I dared go into one and order something.
