I have seen his efforts. You're in for an art-design treat.

THAT song though, Good Lord, Lord Rixondale! What WERE you thinking? ;)

I thought you liked the solo output of Brian May* :(

I jest. Or do i?

Really enjoyed listening to that CD this morning.

A few tracks on there of stuff I know:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
The Cure - A Forrest (one of my all time faves), Interpol - (not sure of the track name but one of their best), Beastie Boys - Root down (excellent mix)

A fantastic blast from the past:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Men at Work - Overkill :luv:

Some really good tuneful stuff on there that I'd never heard of, and a smattering of stuff like Deftones (?) that's ok but not really my bag, and a peculiar metal monstrosity that sounds like Jethro Tull jumps into towards the end.

Scores:
895 Bananas for the CD
15 Bananas for the imaginative packaging

I'm getting the wax cylinders ready for a recording session over the next couple of days. Would have been quicker, but a stupid dog keeps on looking down the horn.

I've sent mine out. I haven't got any yet though. :(

I crave exciting new music to listen to as Lady Rixondale keeps on subjecting me to Lady Gaga and flippin' Biffy Clyro.

Hurrah! Finally sent mine (well asked the post monkey to send them, anyway)

Would ask that any receipients listen all the way through, as i've just realised i put some odd ones near the start, but did try and mix up the genres a bit.

I has a CD! It is called "Raw Material and Recycled Material" and it has brilliantly minimalist packaging.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It appears to be an album of unusual covers/lesser heard originals/remixes, meaning it contains Johnny Cash's glorious "Hurt" and an awesome Goth cover of "Gimme Shelter" amongst others.

It's largely good stuff and I can see myself listening to it a lot over the coming weeks. Thanks mysterious sender!

A tracklisting would be nice though...

Received! Ta friend!

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It has Beastie Boys and The Cure and lots of stuff I do not know. One blippy pop song works perfectly with Minecraft. PERFECTLY. :)

Well that was an interesting CD! Not exactly the type of music I usually listen to, but hey it's different, and that's the point ;)

I think I could hazard a guess at the originator, but will save it :)

I got one that I would describe in the same way :) I think it was probably from Kern, it was nice to listen to and some of it was really enjoyable! Made me feel like I could have been sat around a camp fire, joyfully planning the next assault on a weaken enemy! I'll have to have a look later and see what I liked mostest :)

Well that was my guess too :) I liked the classical bits more than the folky bits probably, but it was all interesting.
Good one, cheers! Maybe another one will come today..

Thanks. I was half-tempted to do a fully classical one (why didn't I think of 4'33''?) but decided to include a full-work of around half an hour: 'Metamorphosen' is one of my favourite pieces but not that well-known.

Purcell's 'Thou know'st Lord' is nigh-on perfect and I want it played at my wedding and funeral, despite not being religious.

Three tracks in and my CD (plain, with Beex 2011 scrawled on it) is infinitely more varied than mine.

No... I mean the one I received. My sentence above was written very poorly.

I have received a varied and interesting collection.

It makes me feel bad for the ones I sent out, as much as I love all the tracks on it.

I owe you a CD anyway, throughsilver. If you send me your address I'm happy to burn a 4th copy.

Heh, I did wonder why your CD was more varied than yours. ;)

And nice one that man. I plan a similar thing for the people who escaped my 2009 Summer Comp madness.

I have decided that the next time we do this I am going to make a CD with 20 tracks (or however many I can fit on), one per year starting at the present and going backwards.

I am positively spoilt!

I got one from Mypsie, which is a mixture of pop/rock/indie/alternative/experimental/metal/funk. One from Kern, which is the one you got, with a mix of classical and folk and such with a secret surprise at the end :) And I love no.8, my favourite cartoon when I was about 11 I think. And one from (most likely) throughsilver, which probably has a bit of everything in. And some frickin' black eyed peas.....

So what do we do now? Review each CD or track or what? Someone tell me what to do, dammit!!

Edit: stupid 'Peas.

Heh. I just haven't got around to dedicating the time to picking tracks. The last one took me bloody ages.

Miss Malabar has a hair appointment on Sunday, so I might do it then, if I'm conscious at that time.
