Okay, folks, I need you to put your collective noggins together. The lovely Rachel is about to put in her last order for music before she retires from the library, and I'm wracking my brains for wise choices.

So far I've thought of -

MC Solaar - Cinquieme As (we really need some genuinely grown up and decent hip-hop and rap)

Cowboy Bebop - Original Soundtrack

The latest Fall album.

Mark E Smith - Renegade: The Lives & Tales

Catch is there's only until the end of today to think of stuff - so if you think there's anything desperately vital to a music library, stick it down here.

Got a fair few of Hayseed Dixie's and Jurassic 5's already. Can probably only stretch to one album per band/artist with this order though. If I *had* to choose one DJ Format, which would you recommend?

Excellent. Pharcyde's 'Real Life' and Magazine's 'Bizarre Ride II' ordered.

EDIT: No, hang on.

Half Man Half Biscuit - CSI: Ambleside

Ja, early Magazine is good. I think your library needs these particularly:

Autechre - 'Quaristice'
Portishead - 'Third'
British Sea Power - 'Do You Like Rock Music?'
Red House Painters - everything
Godspeed You Black Emperor - everything
Laurie Anderson - 'Big Science'
Neutral Milk Hotel - 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea'
Nina Nastasia - everything
Scott Walker - Any of the 'Scott #' albums.
Talk Talk - 'Laughing Stock', 'Spirit of Eden'
Wire - 'Pink Flag', '154', 'Chairs Missing'

I've just realised that you do actually sort of vaguely resemble Howard Devoto, Zardoz. Ever been in Magazine?

You are not the first person to say this.

I will now drug you, then fuck you, on the permafrost.

Oooh! Put this down, purely because of the awesome title. And of course, Half Man Half Biscuit are might.

Zardoz, no, we're a council service. Which means no bonuses or rewards. Ever. Still, be happy. The light pours out of you.

CUS, happily we have nearly everything you've listed. We only lack Red House Painters, but we've run out of order space. Sorry all!

Can you put recommended by Zardoz stickers on the cases then?

Probably not. But I can put an entry on Workflows saying 'Recommended by Zardoz!' which will confuse borrowers using our website most excellently, causing them to try and find music magazines called 'Zardoz' and end up accidently ordering bizarre Sean Connery films instead.

*sigh* Okay, Red House Painters: Ocean Beach added.

You don't have to nervouspete, but it really is an excellent album.

Myself and Dimrill both have VAST music collections, and have known each other since we were chyilds. 'Ocean Beach' by Red House Painters is one of maybe about 12* albums that we both agree on. Get 'Ocean Beach' by Red House Painters. Or we'll BOTH come after you.

* 6, more like.

I like the fact that Beach House - Devotion and Red House Painters both sound like slightly sinister Edward Hopper paintings.

We have three Devo albums. That's enough Devo for now. Incidently, the Welsh Club I went to see the Wave Pictures at played two Devo songs later that Saturday night. "We Are Devo" and "Freedom from Choice". Excellent.
