Just back from hospital, everything fine with Baby and my Mrs but she
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
had another thick mucus/blood clot the size of her palm pop out
when I was on my way into work. So I turned around and took her in, half expecting to be a dad again today.

They're keeping her in for a course of steroids (and 24 hr observation) to help strengthen his lungs (just like with our first born). Still going ahead with c-section next Thursday.

Phew.

In other news the copy of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85–92 on vinyl arrived today from Ebay. £10! :metul:

Happy Birthday Warbot!

Nay: my recently ex girlfriend is giving me the right fucking runaround and my head is all over the place.

Yay: had second interview for that job today, it went much, much, much better than the first one and they offered me the job on the spot. So I said "yes"!

So some good stuff at least.

As soon as possible.

They've said they can wait for me to do my four weeks notice, but they'd like me to start as soon as possible and if I can get the notice period cut short, they'd be very grateful. I've asked them if they mind me waiting to hand my notice in till Monday as my current employers had no idea I was at an interview today (told them I had a doctors appointment), and they were fine with that also as it gives them a chance to send me all the paperwork.

The tricky part always seems to be getting the interview. I normally chase up an application if I haven't heard anything within a week or so, as I figure it forces someone to dig out your CV and hopefully put it back on the top of the pile at the end of the phone call.

I had two disastrous interviews at two of my dream jobs in my early twenties (one at the BBC, one at a fairly large publisher in London), basically because I went in poorly prepared. Preparation is everything, even if you only spend 30 mins on Google looking up the company the night before. The last four jobs interviews I've had ended with me being offered the job afterwards, so after those initial disasters I've obviously been doing something right.

Just been to see a friend and her new offspring. I'm getting quite used to have babies passed to me now. A year ago I wouldn't touch the things.

Sent off two job applications yesterday and am thinking about a bid administrator for some policy thinktank, but it is in Oxford and money ain't great so I'd still be in Bicester.

Send SA round. He'll get to kill someone and calm down, and you get rid of your messy ex.

Quote of the week.

I get the same feeling from my FiL still. After 10 years, a marriage, a house, a steady job and income and a successful impregnation, he still looks at me like I'll be leaving soon.

There's probably a reason he has a photo of MrsA and her lawyer ex-boyfriend on the study wall...

He's coming to visit us soon, too, the ex. Should be a laugh. After we've visited the edible garden show.

Not really. It just amuses me. Slightly. He's a nice bloke, actually, we get on very well and I shared a hotel room with him on his stag night last year. This caused some raised eyebrows.

Fuck me I'm bored right now.
