When mine came out as part of the new kitchen work, they found the hot and cold pipes were connected the wrong way around, Currys Team KnowHow at their finest.

How old was your dishwasher? They are all single feed only these days I think, and designed to be cold water fed.

Not that old maybe 5 years, it was bought new by us. We are using it in the new kitchen as its fine, I will ask my kitchen guy about the single feed as he was the one who told me about the crossed pipes.

You can hot feed them, but that just makes them more expensive to run, as I understand it.
I suspect that is what he meant, that it was using hot feed rather than cold feed.

This happens all the time when contractors use general builders to do plumbing and not plumbers. I can do general plumbing but I’ve had guys working for me who have swapped the hot and cold feed to mixer taps and asked if it’s ok to leave it. It isn’t, ever, IMO

I had a question on this. I'm looking to replace a cooker, add a dishwasher, and turn a washing machine into a washer/dryer. All in the same place they are now, sort of.

I'm assuming that lot is beyond the scope of the installers that turn up with appliances, who should I be looking to get to connect this stuff up?

Post subject:  Re: DIY? GTFO!

Is the cooker gas? If so you'll need a corgi registered dude.
Washing machine into washer dryer should be just pull out the old one, put in the new one. That's an appliance installer job.
Add dishwasher could be easy, could be tricky, depends if you already have the plumbing for it and the space ready for it to go in. If you need to remove a cabinet and put in plumbing, that will be beyond the appliance installer guys, I think. They just do swaps of already installed kit really.

You'll need an appropriately qualified plumber and an electrician I'd have thought. Perhaps speak to a kitchen fitting firm, might be simpler.

Over the past couple of months, I've had currys replace my electric oven, electric hob and washer dryer. Looking into replacing the dishwasher, but finding it hard to decide on a replacement.
It was all painless, although I made pretty sure to get items that could easily go in where the old one was.

I've sourced a few trades on MyBuilder recently. You might need to do that for your dishwasher, but the other stuff should be able to be done in the installation cost.

Cooker gas or electric will need qualified personnel to remove and replace.

The dishwasher as its new would need a plumber as you would need a water feed and connection to waste pipe. Also maybe need a plug fitting depending on whats there now.

Washer dryer you could do yourself as plug and water connections needed are there already I would assume.

I get all that as well on mine, but generally, if you ask for a recommendation for a tradesman you get some decent responses.

I've had a recent expectation to that, I posted this week asking for a man with a van to take a piece of furniture to my brother's house about 50 miles away, no responses aside from one woman who liked my post :DD

End of the first week of my kitchen works. Spent most of it getting the space fit to take a kitchen.

Every floor joist needed ripping down to get levels right, all the wiring redone (no earth on anything)

The highlight of the week was finding the extract fan hole was far too high and would have been blowing air into the roof.

So now floor on and level, plasterboard and plastering done, today was underfloor heating and first screed application down

House stinks of screed, and 2nd lot goes on tomorrow.

Have I told you about the huge pond that I have in my garden?

Well, it's got to go. It takes up a third of the garden and includes a huge rockery. One of my neighbours had about a ton of rocks off me but that's barely dented the surface. I've let the pond dry up and have taken up a load of the mud at the bottom of it to reveal the thick, thick concrete below. I've also got a demolition breaker so now the fun can really start!

It's back breaking!

Plaster all on and drying now, also last coat of latex went on yesterday and was sanded level where needed today

Flooring goes on tomorrow.

Pressure starts this week, painter not in until Thursday and has 2 days work, kitchen units need to go in Friday so they will have to work around each other.

I ordered Hob, Extract and microwave from Currys and they were delivered today, except the extract wasn't

So I opened the order email (didn't read before so guess I'm at fault) and it transpires that they are waiting for the manufacturer to confirm delivery dates

Called them and they have no update, but guess bank holiday doesn't help.

Should have read it closer, but when in a hurry and you bang 3 things into a Curry's online shopping cart it's not the first thing that springs to mind.

Spoke with Currys today and they were vague on the delivery

Told me that they would have an update in 24 hours and the guy told me they are made to order (which is bullshit)

So after getting off the phone with them, I found the same extract hood online, called the place and they confirmed stock with Sunday delivery.

So ordered that and canceled the Curry's order, that at least managed to process that quickly
