First coat of paint in the back bedroom and more of the kitchen out.

I made a pond.

Observe it with your eyeballs and comment with your fingertips. And maybe a thumb.

Kitchen ripped out yesterday.

Today the floorboards came up, we always knew the floor was a mess level wise, but as usual, its worse than we thought!

The levels of the higher joists are too high to get the level floor where we need it, so guess joists are coming out

Can't understand why a builder would do such shite work on his own house, I found a light switch all cabled in under the floor, why go to the effort of doing that!?

Post subject:  Re: DIY? GTFO!

Before you put the floorboards back, chuck a plastic skeleton under them.

He's not being paid for it (quite the opposite, in fact) and chances are any dodgy work would go undiscovered for long enough for it to not matter to him personally.

Or he's just a cunt.

Tonight I am solo in the house so you all know what I'll be up to...

... the finishing touches to my desk, of course!

I've bought a hole saw to make some grommet holes and a cable tray to fix to the underneath to keep things neat. Lahverly!

I had that day bed in the old house, it's really fucking heavy.

It's still in the old house, as I left it behind when I moved. (see above)

The bottom pulls out to make a king size bed, it's pretty nifty actually.

It's really uncomfortable to use as a sofa, due to having no back and a really deep base.

It's quite clearly distinct from a sofa or sofabed, as (as Troops says) you can't really sit upright on it.

It's pretty good for lying on during the day, and then pulling out the bottom to make it into a bed for the night.

Not sure of a good term for something like that though...

We bought that daybed for the kids' bedroom (before they had separate rooms) and I built half of it the wrong way around, and then got myself trapped in the slats.
