I paid someone to build the last lot of IKEA stuff we had, in my defense there was a lot of it and I had put my back out. Don't think I will go back now though :)

My DIY involvement looks to be continuing. After the weekends rip out I left them to it, my fitter is a good guy and will always work out issues and do a good job, something I need in the mess of a house I have. He is a bit disorganized though.

He has been let down by the casual workers he uses, today and probably tomorrow, so looks like I'm taking half a day off tomorrow afternoon to help him plasterboard. Also, when the electrician cut the spotlight holes in the ceiling he cut around twice the number needed as he needed to pull cables through ceiling joists, he has gone away now and didn't fill any of the holes in so that to do as well now.

All this is a bit moot if IKEA call it a day bed, which they do even if they're wrong so to do.

The bathtub pic is upside down because Beex’s JPEG resizer neither respects nor passes through the JPEG rotation EXIF flag value.

It's the glue I used to keep them up. It just interferes

(but more seriously, shiny new induction hob, and the omelette, griddle and frying pans don't work with it. The sauce pans are old, manky, lack lids in some cases due to having been dropped and got given to me because they were as such)

My next task is replacing the hood over the cooker.

I've tried that. The old hood is from ~1995,so can't find any manuals or anything.
But in general, you need to unscrew the chimney and remove it, then you can unscrew the main section and lift it off the hooks now it's no longer blocked by the chimney.

This is all fine, except having unscrewed the chimney, it's not budging. I suspect some berk glued it together to stop air leakage. Despite being unnecessary.

Thing is, I don't want to completely remove it just yet, just get enough access to be sure the new one I have in mind would be suitable replacement. It'd probably be easier if I could just destroy it.

It's likely using a silicon sealant. You can get chemicals that remove it, like https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense- ... 00ml/88987

You need to know where to apply it, though.

Even though I was on a break from work and seriously watching the cash, I only managed a couple of weeks in the new flat before I went out and spent £200 on a dishwasher!
Luckily the flat already had the plumbing in place, it just needed the cabinet removing.

Washing dishes is for chumps.
