The whole build up to the match was dominated by The Rock. He was funny, clever and intense while Cena stood their smirking like a teenager with a chip on his shoulder.

Back in the Attitude Era, Stone Cold rarely jobbed. Triple H rarely jobbed. The Rock lost to everyone and their dog.

What I thought was interesting was that the match itself was very 'old school'. How often these days do you see the two guys clinch up at the start of the match? Very entertaining match, and to be honest no real surprise that in Miami the Rock won it.

edit: I just realised something, it's Ork Warlock, 'taker rolled an ork warlock.

It was awful. A couple of dangerous spots to begin with, then lots of finishing moves in-between periods of hoping 'lying around' equates to 'selling'. Complete nonsense. Triple H has had a ton of better matches and he's not even that good.

It was alright. I really didn't like the ending. It felt like 'Triple H has got this one won, all he has to do is not get gogoplata'd.... for fucks sake, Hunter'.

He was going to cave Taker's head in with a hammer!
Plus it was most amusing to jeer "why not just keep crying in the corner" to HBK.

Mania thoughts:

Bryan/Seamus - WTF? Admittedly funny, but robbed the audience of what could have been a great match.

Orton/Kane - huge surprise. I would have bet anything on Orton winning.

Taker/HHH - enjoyed it despite disliking the extremely boring build up. One too many 'finishing' move perhaps, but silly fun.

Teddy/Johnny - bit meh, but great ending. Ryder looked a million dollars, and the monkey flip on Ziggler was insane. Right team won.

Punk/Jericho - really good match

Rock/Cena - bit slower than I had hoped, probably for Rocky's benefit. Loved his technical display at the start though. Made me laugh. No torch needed to be passed, and Cena reacting to losing is the better future storyline, so the right winner.

So you really enjoyed the women's match and Big Show/Rhodes?

I enjoyed Show/Rhodes but forgot about it. If there was a match that would have fitted an 18 second squash, this could have been it.

I skipped the girly match.

I was really looking forward to Sheamus and Daniel Bryans match. I was really annoyed when it was so short.. that could have been a great opener to the show but no, ruined.

Weirdly, it could be the best thing to ever happen to D-Bry, crowd was mental for him on Monday night. And Sheamus was booed out of the building.

Disagree. Show/Rhodes had a much bigger buildup over the last couple of months than Sheamus/Bryan.

I said it for two reasons

1) It fitted the theme better. Show/Rhodes was all about how Show gets humiliated at Mania. For Rhodes to get distracted by the ref not handling his belt correctly or similar and then punched out in 10 seconds would have been fitting.

2) Bigger build up or not, the Seamus/Bryan match was for the World Title, and featured the winner of the Royal Rumble. Look at the crowd and the number of D Bryan signs in comparison to either Show or Rhodes.

Sure - but then Bryan was the MITB winner and took the title off Show in an equally brief fashion, and no-one complained then. Because Bryan is popular, presumably.

Were they? Was he? I seem to remember them being thrilled, but I wasn't super sober.

Because the crowd were rabidly pro-Daniel Bryan.

Dunno if it was a reaction to Mania, a reflection of the fans at that arena, or if Bryan has just become massively more over in the past few weeks.

He wasn't that over at Mania, was he? Shamus was the clear favourite.

He was over a lot more than I thought he'd be.

Sheamus was indeed, though there were a surprising amount of 'Yes!' signs in the crowd. I think the loss may have turned Bryan into a cult hero.

Man.

Bryan was in the dark main event tag match. (At TV tapings, they have a final match after the cameras stop for the fans) Huge pop when he came out, and every time he was in the match the entire crowd were shouting 'Yes!' to every move he hit. When he was tagged out? The entire crowd chanting for him.

Crazy.

At least they made it onto the show this year, eh?

Bloody hell, Monday night's crowd properly stepped on the Lesnar appearance, didn't they?

Its the internet era. About the only time someones turned up unexpectedly in the WWE since the internet: Rhyno and Spike Dudley back in the day, Eric Bischoff, Cena at the Rumble a few years ago and The Rock last year. Poor Jericho has had three attempts at a surprise debut/return, and the crowd knew for each one.

Amusing thing is that only cena and the rock knew out of all the performers. Vince/Ace told them all that the crowd was full of shit and that if he did return then there would be a proper build up with video packages and that they were going to wait till after A-Train came back to air them. Lesner was hidden in a closet for hours so the surprise backstage was genuine.


edit: road dog and Nash were fairly surprising returns. RD especially as there was a lot of bad blood there.

Yes, yes, yes, released, no he's criticising TNA recognition of another promotions accolades. I agree with him saying that TNA is being driven into the ground by the same pilots who masterminded WCWs demise. But less eloquently and more brutish and roid raging.

As we all know, Scott Hall's not well. Hope they throw the book at him.

Steiner's still being amazing on Twitter. He pops up at the same time each day and just spews.

I've watched that around 133 1/3 times. Normally when I watch YouTube videos I understand them 100%, when Steiner is involved that goes down to 50% but because he had Petey Williams on there, that adds on an extra 15%... but you've got to subtract two lots of 20% because I can't remember either of the two girls names. One of my friends would remember their names but he's not me and only half the man I am so that means I can only remember one lot of 50% of their names.

All this added up, means that Scott Steiner is my new favourite wrestler!
