That's what normally makes Wrestlemania for me. Watching it with people.

I set an indoor attendance record at my parents house for Wrestlemania 18. I think I had 9 friends there. The parents were obviously over the moon with us shouting and making noise all night as The Rock took on Hogan.

I loved it, but I appear to be allergic to it, as I threw up after it had finished.

Yes. That definitely had nothing to do with the drinking.

I missed out on being there.

:(

I actually watched up to and including the CM Punk match last night on a dodgy feed, and then the rest off a torrent tonight (apart from it was in Spanish... DOH!).

I didn't think it quite hit the heights for me, though I'm not as down on it as some. I think the high points would have made it awesome had I been with people and been drunk, such as:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
THE GOOD:
* CM Punk carrying Randy Orton to a really entertaining match, despite Orton only occasionally remembering that his leg was supposed to be hurt. Great ending to the match, even though my favourite didn't win. Awesome leg sweep.
* Cody Rhodes going over Rey! I love me some Cody Rhodes.
* The last 10-15 minutes of HHH vs UT, with all the kickouts and whatnot. I could tell it was going to end with the Hell's Gate, though I doubted myself when Trips hit the Tombstone. I thought they were gonna have UT lose for a moment!
* The Miz retained, and kicked out of the AA.
* The Rock is cool
* The montages to build the matches. Whatever you say about the company, the WWE Production crew are freaking amazing at them

But there was plenty not so good:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
THE BAD:
* Bumping Sheamus vs Bryan for a load of crappy skits
* Having The Corrrrrrrre get so monumentally bitch-slapped by everyone in such a short space of time
* Randy Boreton winning
* Alberto Del RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRio not winning :(
* The Cole vs Lawler match. They went into the match with sooo much heat, but killed it by having it be too long and having Cole do a load of crappy offense. Could have been a lot shorter and sweeter.
* Not enough actual wrestling

It almost seemed like it was a very long promo for tonight's RAW.

Ah well, next year's will be amazing, if only because I'll be getting drunk and having fun at the same time.

:DD

Holy crap Sin Cara can jump!!!

Also, yay for the match made at the end, but for when they made it? Odd...

Awesome! Was it Russ I was chatting to about that?

And WM was poor. No flow at all to Trips-Taker. Really slow and plodding, even for them. Edge-Del Rio too brief and wrong man won. Corre thing pointless. Punk-Orton weirdly disappointing, considering the're actually good. Was looking forward to Miz-Cena (had it pegged at the match they'd let be good), but went crap quickly. There was way too much nothing - such a flabby show.

Biggest mark-out moment was actually Metallica. That was awesome.

One more thing from RAW, re: Wrestlemania

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
They showed that when Miz went over the barricade with Cena, he smashed his head VERY hard on the floor. They sold it as a concussion at the show and he didn't get involved in any bumping. Is it possible that the match was supposed to end slightly differently, but they shortened it a little due to Miz being concussed?

Hmm.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Neither of them moved for the rest of the count. I'm not sure they would have been able to get a message to the ref to change the way the match was called. You're right though, he took a battering there.

That could be it, actually. I can't see them booking a draw for the WM main event. And if they did book that, one would hope they'd put another match on at the end.

Sad news on Raw this week...
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Edge has had to retire from various complications brought on from his neck surgery 8 years ago. I've always liked Edge, since his days in the Brood, reeking of awesomeness with Christian, the Live Sex Celebration with Lita, the wedding to Vicki and him beating up the anonymous GM's computer. Great wrestler too. Sad to see him go.

So I've just turned on MacGruber, which appears to be a 2010 attempt at a Hotshots film, and the good guys are Kane, Mark Henry, Big Show, MVP, Khali, and Chris Jericho! This is going to be a baaaaad film.

If you've not seen Punk's promo from the end of Monday night's RAW, go find in youtube or something. It's fantastic.

Aye, but as long as I get to watch Evan Bourne and Sin Cara fly around like lunatics, I'm happy enough. Plus, Sheamus, fella.

And R-Truth as a mentalist is actually entertaining (for the first time in his career).

I watched the CM Punk promo on YouTube and was surprised at how many people thought it was "real" as in, he just turned up and shouted his mouth off.

Then again... YouTube comments... I shouldn't have been surprised should I?

Oh man, CM Punk is absolutely on fire at the moment. Two killer segments to bookend Raw this week.

For the first time in ages, I REALLY want to buy the PPV this weekend, even if the chances are that I'll be horifically disappointed with how it turns out.

If the WWE was clever, they'd have Punk win, and 'leave' taking the title to Ring of Honor, and co-promote with them- raising ROH's profile would be good business for the WWE. Just like it was when Vince had a working relationship with Heyman and ECW.

...so, they'll go with either Cena squashing Punk, or much less likely, Punk wins then RAW MITB winner cashed in on him immediately.

I wouldn't be that surprised with the MitB route being taken, but would be by the ROH angle (as fun as it would be... they could have to send someone over there to get the title back... step up Daniel Bryan, the American Dragon!).

It's worth remembering that Punk signed his WWE contract on the ROH title belt at one of their shows (I think), so history could well repeat.

Either way, he's being spectacularly entertaining at the moment.

Claudio Castignoli and Chris Hero currently have no contract with ROH, and are in the process of signing with the WWE. Yet ROH are promoting them for their TV tapings for their new show.

You know who else doesn't have a contract with ROH, and isn't taking Indy bookings? Colt 'CM Punk's best bud' Cabana. The plot thickens....

Someone really needs to have a word with the ROH contract department...

I watched some of the Money in the Bank PPV last night.

Both ladder matches were great. Christian and Randy Orton was great.

The main event was awesome! It's making me a fan of wrestling again.

Odd show, given the drama of the previous night, but then nothing could have matched up to one of my favourite PPVs ever. I mean, it was an internet fan's wet dream... Daniel Bryan wins MitB, Christian and Punk win the titles... wow.

Anyway, interesting ending, and it almost feels like a reboot post-Punk. I hope he does indeed stay away for a bit and then come back as a massive, massive star.

Oh, and also...

I love that he tweets shit like that.
