Shit. I have just had to order another 1tb external HD. which will bring my total storage capacity to 3.65 TB

I now have every smackdown, raw, early heat when it was a third show and PPV from 1997-2009 still missing lots of ECW and smackdown 2010 (goddamnit no pack so it will be another 2009 one by one thing again) which will make the epic collection complete.

Why yes it is a fuckton of rasslin and no I won't ever get to watch them all but it's nice to be able to pull up every single match or promo I would ever want to see. No worries about finding out which one as I use http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/bios/ as a handy list/index thing.

After quite a few years away from watching it I've been reading this thread and it has also coincided with watching some wrasslin on telly - I think I'm getting back into it again, and this news it quite exciting, and has got me wanting to watch some more (although I never really enjoyed many of his actual matches there were some cracking stories with him in, and as said he cuts a really, really good promo (or whatever the talky bits are called).

My interest in it seems to go through cycles like that.

Holy shit, I just watched RAW and it was AMAZING!

There was even a couple of really good matches in!

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Punk vs Cena was great, with them ramping up Punk being 3-0 against John, and some classic old school heel tactics to win.

Miz vs Bryan was also great. Some good Bryan chants, but not as loud as I was hoping. Miz finally getting a solid win.

Also JoMo looked strong again. He's definitely getting a push to the top very soon.

And then.

The GREAT ONE.

The Most Electrifying Man In Entertainment.

THE ROCK.

My word. He has it like nobody else. They've had Austin and Foley and other return, and NOBODY gets that reaction. He's a class apart. He has the crowd from the start and he was awesome. I bloody love him.

Though he kinds spoiled what was already a predictable PPV by giving away that the Main Event of Wrestlemania will be Miz vs Cena with The Rock at ringside. So, everyone, Miz wins over Lawler (probably via Riley or Cole interference, setting up a Lawler vs Cole/Riley Mania match) and Cena wins the Chamber. Soz for the spoilers!

But I don't care, because that was the best RAW in years.

IF YA SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

Holy shit! That pop when that music hit... the crowd went nuts. And then the promo. Thats what wrestling has been missing in this age of guys in black trunks with no real gimmick. Talk about working the crowd.

Don't you go insulting CM Punk now lad.

You are right though, apart from CM punk, santino, the glamazon, Kane and possibly Morrison it's all a bit bland. I'm not American enough to get behind most of Cena's promos although when he's on top form and insulting people("and fire will shoot out of my ass") he can be good although this is mostly down to the script writers. Randy Orton, The million dollar man's kid and goldust's brother all need god damn acting lessons.

Yep, yep

Really? None of those three can work a mic or a crowd. Kane does big nutter, and does it well as long as he stays away from a microphone. Beth Pheonix - er - does big nutter, and does it well as long as she stays away from a microphone.

Morrison is extremely talented, and the crowd love him, but again, keep him away from a microphone for goodness' sake.

You can't really call them bland though. Problem the younger stars have is that most of them come right out of development and right into the WWE so they never learn how to do promos, one hopes this latest thing will encourage a lot of them to up there game.

I forgot shamus, give that man a decent over the top and funny script to read and he could be amazing.

The thing is, he puts on an awful accent, and he has a ridiculous dye-job. He wrestles well, but I can't see him ever making it big. WWE loves its Irish characters, but they don't have do a ridiculous job with them. Contrast Seamus (or Finlay) with Drew McIntyre. Drew is a really good menacing heel character and an excellent wrestler. And they don't feel the need to have him dance around everywhere with a kilt and sporran.

:wrong:

Finlay can be as silly as he wants, because everyone knows he could legitimately kick the ever-living shit out of anyone else in WWE. In fact, they have to silly him up because if they presented him normally, the audience wouldn't be able to take anyone else seriously.

Don't get me wrong, Finlay was great - but 'Irish man's hook is that he's Irish' is a bit boring now.

I once met Finlay when he had his mullet back in the 80s. He was nice. I also met Big Daddy as he was friends with my dad. Also, my dad once got thrown out of a Halifax nightclub by King Kong Kirk who was a bouncer there.

Holy shit holy shit holy shit!

This last part of the elimination chamber PPV with the raw chaps (from last night) is un-fucking-believable. I swear to god this will go down as one of the greatest matches of all time.

Also on raw tonight one of the big teaser vignettes is happening.

edit:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I posted that as I'm still watching and just went "OHHHHHHH SHIIIIITTTT JOHN MORRISON!!! HOLY FUCK" once again. Sweet jesus this is good

I really liked both Elimination chamber matches but thought the Smackdown one shaded it. Big time kudos to Morrison for more crazy Spiderman shenanigans, Sheamus for a hugely physical performance and Rey Mysterio for having a head seemingly made out of granite.

I haven't seen all of Raw yet and therefore don't know quite what the Taker/2 22 11 thing is all about, but if Sting is involved, it should be fun.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!

Speaking of entrance music, in the same way that you can't unhear "I'm Danson, Ted Danson!", you can't unhear "Weeeeeeeeell... It's the pig show!"

This raw wasn't very good. Was all set up promos and for rasslemania with a few very short matches (some goon counted 22 minutes worth of actual rasslin)

ok couple of things made me *twitch*

1. Stop using John Morrison as a jobber, just fucking stop. A squash match against ziggler is just annoying.
2. No John cena there are not "people as far as the eye can see" you are in a fucking enclosed indoor arena. I'm beginning to really dislike this character, I thought he was kind of ok, the patriotism thing was annoying but you could see the kiddies like him - then you put him in a promo war with the rock....Sure the rock's script last week sucked and he should have been in the arena but the delivery and passion was bang on, guy just makes Cena look like a total 4th division fool, hell even The Mizz is out promoing cena.
There is a very good reason for this, The Mizz worked astonishingly hard to get to where he is both in terms of learning to rassle and paying his dues backstage (there are stories about how he was made to change in the hallways and stuff) and he has clearly done a lot of work to improve his promo work over the years where as Cena got to the top of the pile (same as orton) and just couldn't be arsed to learn anything new - tis why both Cena and Orton both have the 5 moves of doom thing. I quite like Orton's multiple personality viper gimmick so I'm not annoyed by him, where as Cena goes on about being the best and how you can be whatever you want to be while phoning it in.

edit: lol last week there were chears at the thought of a rap, Cena is getting X-pac heat right now...

Cena desperately needs to drop into the midcard, turn heel and build himself up again. Even he knows it. The problem is, how can the WWE turn their number 1 cash cow babyface, and the no1 all time Make-a-Wish wish granter heel without upsetting the kiddies and hurting the bottom line?

As to Cena 'phoning it in', Nah. In wrestling, you only do enough to get over. Cena is over. (His reception varies with geographical location, but there's always some positive reaction) why do more now, when he could use it in the future?

Ahhh The Batista defence.

Even as late as the early Attitude era you would only see the top guys really wrestle at pay-per-view - Austin for example never really wrestled at all on raw/smackdown through the whole career. I'm not sure at what point that it changed but it did and there are many wrestlers who don't(/didn't) phone it in - HBK, Y2J, Ray mysterio, CM punk, Kofi kingston, the Hardy boys, Edge, John Morrison and to some extent HHH (more so as he got older with new old DX) to name but a few all give stella non-pay TV performances and the heat they get reflects that. At this point Cena is a pantomime superman character who can barely wrestle and in a modern setting it just grates.

Ah ha! I just worked out when it probably changed for the top superstars. - Scott Steiner Vs Triple H Royal Rumble '03
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK0qT2V6cmM

Ranks as one of the worst matches of all time, whole build up was promo with them trying to out bodybuild each other, they got in the ring and Steiner blew up in about 30 seconds, did suplex after suplex after suplex and nearly killed HHH - really it needs to be seen to be believed.

That and mattel wants to sell toys and you can't really do that if the kiddies don't see them in action every week.

CM Punk with short hair = hot. I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

I quite like The Miz, he seems to play that arrogant-jerk role with a fair bit of humour. Not as good as Angle was, back when I really enjoyed wrasslin, but still pretty entertaining.

The worst match I ever saw was Big Show Vs Billy Gunn (I think he was called Mr Ass or something stupid). It was terrible. I've never really liked Big Show much.

Big Show was pretty awful in the Elimination Chamber. His legs seem to be fucked - strapped up to hell and he's still walking like Bambi.

I'm pleased I've actually seen Alberto Del Rio wrestle now and he's quite good. And he plays a damned good heel.

I remember that being one of the worst matches in history. From failed tiger suplex onward.

Footage not up yet but Jeff Hardy's match last night againced sting was a train wreck. We are looking at fired/jail.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
From what I read he staggered up to the stage, took one bump, fell down drunk/stoned/on meths, and told the ref he could not perform. Match took under 1 min.
