Worth £12, then, for series 1+2?

EDIT: I@m going to wait as I still need to watch:

The Pacific
The Wire Series 1
The Wire Series 2
BSG Series 1
BSG Series 2

Before anything else...

Deffo worth 12 quid. You should also buy How I Met Your Mother Series 1 and 2 for the same price.

Maybe it was gravity, but that's just a theory. You should also consider the "Intelligent Falling" position. Teach the controversy!

I was thinking that while the BBC were broadcasting SOCK all over the place, and showing a sweep of the countryside looking for SOCK. Perhaps they are hoping to catch the perp when they dispose of the SOCK. Oh, they burn? Oh well.

Ah but... It's a sock, you could hide a sock anywhere in your house and it might never be found (looks at dog) but if the police have surveillance on several people they think might be the ones wot done it and the murderer panics and attempt to get rid of it they may get caught out doing something really stupid - like putting it in with the normal rubbish.

Surely the quickest way to lose a sock is to machine wash it at 40 degrees?

In that case the lone sock is probably saturated in DNA evidence by now :hat:

Nope, it's to give it to Craig. That man can lose a sock before it ever sees foot or washing machine.

My PS3 suddenly stopped outputting sound via HDMI over Christmas, which isn't that big a problem as I only use it to watch DVDs and the occasional BluRay. I figured it was the crap HDMI cable which I bought in a rush when I knew I was getting it for Christmas a few years ago — this HDMI cable had metal housings at either end of the stupid braided cable, which had come off exposing all the cabling and I naturally though it might be a dodgy connection (it wasn't that expensive but it was £15 and I was in a rush). Anyway, I was out and about this morning running a few errands so decided to pop into a Currys, optimistically thinking that surely nowadays they would have some cheap HDMI cables. Oh, how wrong I was. The cheapest they had was £30, of which they had one. The next one along the shelf of which they had many, was £70. SEVENTY FUCKING QUID. I turned on my heel resisting the urge to berate one of their sales staff and figured I'd try the huge Asda across the road. £4! That's more like it.

SEVENTY FUCKING QUID. Are people really so so stupid?

Thank you, everyone. We'll be alright. Her sons want to be on their own for a good while, understandably, but the whole extended family and their friends are all rallying around to give them as much support as possible in the coming months, which is actually rather unexpected and massively heartening. :)

It would appear so. Fucking disgraceful, isn't it?

On the subject though, a high-speed HDMI cable is HDMI 1.3 compliant, but is it also 1.4 compliant? Do you need whole new cables for 3D gubbins or will the existing ones work just fine?

It's a moot point for me anyway, as I reckon I'm at least 18 months away from even considering a telly upgrade of any description, I was just wondering is all.

Nasty, but you've just wasted four quid: Sony removed sound output in the last firmware update.

I really hope no one hacks it to add the functionality again as that would be a travesty ;)
