Hmm.. the dashboard offer of 33% of a Gold subscription including 2 free XBLA games is tempting me. £26.50 seems a good price though.

Fucksake, I really have been done by those fuckers at Microsoft. Am now very tempted to phone them up and get them to cancel my XBLG membership all over again. Cheeky fucking cunts, the lot of them.

Another $67 on Two Worlds II takes me to $112, and it's not even February yet.

Still nothing so far, though a few games coming out in the next few months may prove to be too much temptation to handle. Hopefully I'll manage to overcome this and wait for LoveFilm to send them all to me, but I doubt it. We'll see.

Just got Enslaved for the 360 with play-asia comission. Cost £13, which was exactly how much commission the deal for Halo Reach earned me.

I think that counts as a freebie.

Edit: Just picked £300 - £400.

I forgot that I purchased Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena from Steam last week whilst it was going for much cheaps. Much cheaps in this case being £3.57.

Then I went and bought myself Dead Space on the iPad for £5.99. So that brings the total up to £18.13.

I'm meant to be saving.

Rules Question: I have about 2000 Microsoft Space Pounds which are from last year. If I buy, say, ilomilo* with them, does it count?

And is ilomilo any good?

I'm certainly not counting the 1600 I've still got towards this. It's just new money I spend.

I am including xmas money though (which is why my spending is quite high at the moment).

Current total still £47.56

I'm not counting the points I bought in December that I spent the other week on Magical Drop III on the Wii. I wish they'd brought the damn thing out sooner though - it's my favourite Neo Geo game. Magical Drop II is also on there and that's got a better survival mode so I might end up getting that too.

GOG have got Two Worlds as one of the games on offer this weekend for $6.99 for the game and the two expansions so I might get that. I assume the PC version is better than the half-arsed 360 port?

Yeah, I'd say it counts when you buy the points, not when you spend them. Points are imaginary, and you can't cash them out after all.

Thanks for the torrent of advice, but I think I'll pigeonhole it as online gambling rather than gaming. Bullet dodged!

I might be about to spend half my voted "£300-400"... what with MvC3, TDU2, NASCAR 2011, Top Spin 4 and Homefront all coming out in the next six weeks or so... not forgetting that awesome Sims 3 bundle on Steam.

I've spent £3 worth of my iTunes points and 160 M$.

I'm suspecting I could get through £15 a month on iTune vouchers. Which I think is acceptable as it keeps my commutes fresh and exciting. And then probably the same on non iTunes stuff gives me a grand total of £380. So assuming I resist a 3DS I'm now up a bracket from my guess.

Current total (still): £47.56

Also, may flog or trade Fallout New Vegas. Tedious with chips so far. I think the adoration and 65hrs I spent on the first has me spent.

Not that it counts as money, but I got Dead Space 2 LE, a move controller and a PS eye and Nier on the 360 from Gamestation with my credit there. Total of eighty something.

Assuming I finish it pretty quickly (which I intend to), I should be able to get 90%+ of what I spent on Dead Space 2 back when I trade it in.

January total: 1500 MS points (£12.75), and £14 in CEX on Halo 3 and Bioshock 2 that was actually funded by trade-ins with some to spare... so a grand total of £6.75.

Because of this thread I'm finding myself not wanting to buy any games to see if I can be the winner. Sadly, this means I seem to be buying loads of Blu-rays instead.

I'm not sure why I'm viewing buying games as a bad thing.

I don't drink, don't smoke and rarely go out so what else am I going to spend my money on?

I don't view it as a bad thing. Which is why I'm not taking part in this. I have no idea how much I'll spend, but that's entirely due to not knowing what games are coming out.

I've not bought any games so far. I very rarely buy full price games anyway. In fact, thinking on, I've only ever bought one full price 360 game for myself, The Ashes. It was disappointing.

As well as Just Cause 2 for £4.99, I've now shelled out for the official Wireless N adapter as I want to shift all my gaming to the warmer end of the house. Fortunately, Gamestation had a second hand one for £34.99, which still seems expensive for what it is, but at least it's still a fair saving on the RRP I guess.

I'm thinking my £200-£300 estimate might be a bit out already though.

Ok, so far..
Just Cause 2 - £4.99
Wireless Adaptor - £34.99
PSP Slim & Lite and eight games - £100
Xbox Live Sub - £26.50
Wireless Xbox Controller Receiver - £8. Doesn't seem to want to work on my PC though.
=£174.48.

So much for £200-£300 for the year.

Oh shit, I bought Zombies!!! on WP7 a few days ago. That's me up to £43.69, then. Still, only a smidge over the sum of a full-price game so far.

I should tot up my iPhone games, and then my yearly total will be around £6ish.

Oh shit, I bought Zombies!!! on WP7 a few days ago. That's me up to £43.69, then. Still, only a smidge over the sum of a full-price game so far.

When I find out what's still pending from my birthday I'll have a splurge on my Amazon wishlist.

I have a Kindle on mine, btw. Just sayin'.

I might not be contributing to this thread for a while, as I just received 5600 MS points and a $100 EB Games gift card for my birthday. :smug:

I decided to splash out on the rather splendid looking action-RPG The Harvest for WP7 as I needed something to play while I was away this weekend. It's £5.49, which seems steep for a mobile game, but it sure does seem a lot of game for the money. £49.19.
