Anyone wanna do a review of Tropico 3 on the 360 for me?

I'd quite like to play it, but I don't think I'm really qualified to play it. Ideally I'd like someone who have played either of the previous games.

Cheers

Not qualified to paly it? Jesus, you need a certificate for everything these days.

Seriously though, you have thumbs, right? Play it, doesn't matter if it's not your thing. Indeed, that could work as a plus.

Nah, it's for SavyGamer, although since I've got the details for the PR guy, we could probably get a copy of uptojump too.

I'd dearly love to do it, but not sure if I have time. Haven't played any others in the series, either. If nobody else offers and you've been happy with my other reviews I'll do it though.

*Jumps up and down waving hand*

ME! ME ME! ME! I'LL DO IT! I AM WITH CHILD TO DO SO, SIR!

I've never played any Tropico 3 but the demo, but I've read up on it quite a bit and I luv strategy titles and city builders and knows the genre well. Warning, I haf nevur dun profeshional revue before, but am eager puppy.

Of course, I'll have to square it with my housemate friend who owns the EggsBox, *cough*, but I never ever have trouble getting game time in on it.

So, if you can accept all those caveats, I'm yer man.

I've just soberly remembered that I'm determined to buy Tropico 3 for PeeCee as well, so I've no idea why I'm so enthusiastic frankly. If you like you can nab someone else for the EggsBox one, and I'll send you a PC review after some intensive play-fun for SavyGamer and Up-To-Jump with the grand lie-word EXCLUSIVE stamped on it for added professionalism.

Well if Pete is silly enough to vito a free game I'll review it.

What kinda time scale we talking about, it would take a week or two of play at least before I felt comfortable in playing it. Strat games take time...

Oooh, and "casual gamer" girlfriend (aka CoD6 purchasing/Bishi Bashi Champion/You defining idiot don't know shit, I mean 'casual' get off my lawn you fools/) enjoyed Tropico back in the day, not promosing but I could try and get her to write something too. A compare contrast maybe.

I'd love to offer, but I'm not sure I've got enough time on my hands to do it justices. If you're happy with half-assed opinions for someone who gave it a couple of hours on a sunday afternoon before his wife demanded he turn off the XBox so she could watch the Come Dine With Me marathon on More4, then chuck it my way. Otherwise, I reckons someone else would be better.

Probably going to pick up the peesee version at some point, though.

I'd actually be interested in hearing a comparison between the Xbox and PC versions, as I'm not convinced this sort of game is best suited for a console.

Because I love you all and am painfully honest, that is why I fessed all.

Yup, if Lave wants-wants-wants then he may have the Eggsboxy. I reckon I'll nip off to Game tomorrow and buy it. Apparently there's a lovely custom campaign editor thing on the PEECEE one. :D

Did Lave win then?

Once you are finished it we could turn it into a beex-slag game, where we just post it on to each other when we have had enough of it.

I guess, but I want Pete to compare it to the PC version as I think that will be really interesting compared to Eurogamers empty gra[hical comparisons.. I want to see how they've approached that.

See I'm putting your blog and stuff before myself. Thats how awesome I am.

I am overcome with emotion at graceful conceding. Unless Eggsboxing housemate becomes fiercely possessive and claims it as his own (unlikely) I'll send the copy on to you after I'm done, if you like Lave. :)

Slag game sounds cool to me. I'm pretty interested in playing it, and was planning to get it once it bottomed out at a tenner or less.

I'll have it very last because I am in no hurry to play it, and I will no doubt take forever.

Also, if you all say it is shit, I can not bother.

The GF always waxes lyrical about Tropico though. So it should be at least interesting

Righto, I've insensibly bought Tropico 3 on the PC, so shall be playing a bit of that tonight. Looking forward to comparing and contrasting with the Eggy Box one, will they finally dispell the curse of shit strategy conversions to console land? Only time, will tell. :hat:

Not yet, I'm afraid. Did you send them both addresses? I'll ask the porter at work to keep an eye out for it, if it's not to my home addy. In fact, I'll check - as I didn't give you my full name and so, unnamed, it may be in some pile somewhere.

Am playing at the PC version though. :)

PC Gamer reckons it's very cute and clever - but there's not enough visual feedback, which is a shame as it could show a lot of humour having little animated things happening based on your actions.

Definitely haven't received at home, I asked the porters to keep an eye out at work. I'll go check with them this lunch break. ?:|

Finally finished the review. Do you mind proof-reading it Lewie? Or can I post it on here first for opinions?

Sorry, my eyes are burning too much from the hours of effort to think objectively on this one! :S

Skeptical, me. I'll wait for reviews/valued opinions, as I love Tropico, but I haven't seen anything concrete in the way of genuine advances in the promo stuff for Tropico 4. I could forgive Tropico 3 for basically being a spruced up Tropico, but they'll have to do a lot more to get my money again.
