I just watched the first episode.

I enjoyed it, and thought it was paced quite nicely. Only thing I wasn't fond of was the survivors outside Atlanta and how that went. Was a bit 'meh' for that part.

But overall good.

Heh, that does look quite like him. He isn't credited on IMDB for it though, and that site has a list of uncredited zombies.

Good interview with Kirkman, the comic writer, on some of the differences between the comic and the first episode of the TV show. He confirms it's not Carrey, Grim... Also, that horse was used in Romero's last zombie film!

Episode 2 done. I really like the feeling of having a weekly serialised zombie fix.

This was one of my primary reasons for criticising the pacing of the first episode, knowing that there were only five to follow.

That was Lennie James. He's been in a metric shit-ton of stuff, but I primarily remember him as one of the robbers who're menaced by Brick Top in Snatch.

Ah, now I have given his name to IMDB, I see that I recognise him from an episode of 'Lie To Me'. I knew he was a Brit!

Very amusing that most of the first episode was about him and Andrew Lincoln... both pretending to be American.

I wouldn't have guessed either of them were Brits.

The pilot of Burn Notice had the female lead speaking an unfuckingbelievable terrible Irish accent. Really, truly, shocking. Come episode 2, it was gone without a trace. Unsurprisingly.

What are Scousers then?

I think it's just that we are brought up hearing a lot more American accents than Americans do British.

There's a ton of them getting work out there, pretending to be American, in all sorts of things (The Wire, True Blood, House, etc.)

You're not wrong. American TV is even worse at Irish accents than it is at English ones*.

* - Although Gabrielle Anwar is English, of course.
