Shifty eyed hag and man with speech impediment cleared of killing their own daughter.

Quote:
Kate and Gerry McCann were today formally cleared by the Portuguese authorities of involvement in their daughter Madeleine's disappearance.

Portugal's attorney general, Fernando José Pinto Monteiro, said there was insufficient evidence to continue the police case.

...

More than 14 months after Madeleine went missing, he said the McCanns, both 40, from Rothley, Leicestershire, were no longer formal suspects.

Hmmm.

Quote:
The third formal suspect in the case, Algarve property consultant Robert Murat, 34, also had his "arguido" status lifted.

Good for him - and good for him taking those bastard rags to court for their borderline perversion of justice antics. He's never going to be able to have a normal life now that his name has been so comprehensively and publicly dragged through the mud for over a year.

Quote:
The McCanns believe Madeleine was abducted and is still alive.

"Madeleine is a beautiful little person. She was a very happy and much loved little girl. We believe there is a very good chance that Madeleine is still alive," they say on their website.

I suspect not. She's either spending the rest of her natural life locked in a basement somewhere in Qatar being buggered by a round-robin of rich international playboy paedos or she's decomposing in a ditch. Because of you. You swivel eyed witch.

Are social services just taking a while to find their home address?

/semi-troll. I only half mean the above. They just really, really piss me off.

One of those where the truth never will come to light, I suspect. Unless it's done in an episode of Cold Case or something.

Perhaps, as a step up from people having as many kids as they possibly can to claim all the benefits and get housing priority, we could now see a trend of families "losing" a spare child, so they can live off all the donations.

It's a terrible story. I actually hope she IS dead because the alternative could be far worse.

I do still feel angry that there was never a social services investigation into the McCanns, though, Their daughter went missing because of their negligence. I hope they never lose sight of that.

"Thank-you for sending in your photos and letters about Madeleine - unfortunately, our computer monitor is very small, and we are having trouble reading all of them, and may be missing out on vital clues.

A new 48" Sony Bravia would make all the difference in helping us to spot important leads. Especially if it was attached to a 7.1 surround system, through which to play recordings of y'know, audio evidence and that, if we have any."

I love how the first reaction to losing effectively the last hope of ever seeing her again is "Yay! We're not suspects!"

*sigh*

My original "Where's Maddie" blog post has been trolled pretty heavily lately (having got no comments for the first year) and I very recently wrote a long piece in said comments about my feelings so it's not worth doing again.

Not really, no. They obviously had the spares idea, but you're not supposed to kill half of them yourself and in one go. I can't imagine any donation drives they did were as successful as the McGanns.

You're right about Thor though, we need more god-named children.

I said that ages ago, and got shouted at for being a horrible person. Admittedly, I left the second part as implied, but this person didn't pick up on that.

Zeus. Fucking great name.
Besides, children are often named after modern "gods" in plebian families. One child in a school in Wolves I work in is called "Keanu". Imagine that shouted out in a horribly thick Wolverhampton accent. I also heard one family shout "Beyonce!" loud and proud to their sprog in Tescos in Cank.

I went to Wingham Wildlife Park on Saturday. It is a lovely place, and has a walk-in prarie dog enclosure, which is superawesome.

Anyway, there was a couple with their kid there - I say with their kid, they spent the whole time swigging from their cans of tennents while bawling her name in a lazy effort to find out where their little brat had run off to this time.

That name? Ebony. A little white girl, and they called her Ebony.

I did, it's surprisingly uninteresting.

http://www.enterspace.org/askduds/?feed=rss2 was the correct answer, it's at the bottom.

As for trolled, I hope it's trolling because half of these people being serious would be very sad...

Daddy's nickname for his little guy is "Ivory", see. So they have a song about their "special time".

Yeah, one of my nephew's little play friends is called Ebony, she's the daughter of one of the old actresses in Casualty, and a girl at my drama School was called Ebony. Both are white but with dark hair.

It's also the name of The Spirit's taxi-driving young helper in Will Eisner's soon-to-be-depressingly-raped-by-Frank-Miller top old comic 'The Spirit'.

Seriously, I switch off when anything's said about the Maddie and the McCann's. Though I guess their last shot at ekeing money would be to set up a band by the same name for, erm, 'private investigation costs'.

I knew someone at uni whose (slightly adjusted for anonymity) name was Pendragon Xavier Richards. His brother was Percival Lucifer Richards. His other brother was Prometheus Dante Richards. Supposedly, allegedly, in the case of his brothers, anyway.

Wow. Very big on 'P' names, his parents, then.
