Oh, I don't know, I've never watched Star Wars (well, Russell made me sit through one once, but I don't remember if the Ewoks or Wookie were in it? The first original one). Anyway, they look really similar, like one is a shrunken down, mini version of the other. Also Wook-ie... wok-e... e-wok. Too similar to be accidental. I think more likely its like Homo sapiens and neanderthal, still able to swap DNA. Or poodle and Labrador.

You make some good points but despite their similarities I don't believe they evolved from the same ancestors, they are from different planets after all. Mrs wookie and sez both have a mega-cold now which means neither of them got any sleep and seren can't eat because her nose is too blocked and she spews anything we can get in anyway. Things went south fast.

So far the baby falls asleep on me and makes a lot of noises that we keep trying to interpret; basically the same as our cat.

Oh :( colds are horrid, horrid things when they're small. Have you tried one of the boooogy suckers? The bulb ones work a little, but the little suction tubes with the mesh filter are brilliant, but it all depends if you can stomach the thought. It saved me from a lot of sleepless nights when Darwin was small and too poorly to feed without cleared nasal airways.

Darwin will be two (zomg) this time next week. How did that happen? He's a pretty awesome little guy. He's funny, his best friend is a five legged octopus and he is in that information sponge stage where he's just surprising us every day.

I tried to interpret Darwin's noises when he was tiny. All of the NCT teaching was around mewing noises meaning hungry, sharper noises meaning wind, hollow cries meaning something else. It took me ages to realise that every noise Darwin made meant he was hungry. Basically the same as Russell.

We were just talking about the NCT teaching about crying, and the apparent gap between that and reality and reached much the same conclusion! Violet seems to be perpetually hungry. Mind you she slept about four hours in a row today, which was quite impressive. She's also taken to poking herself in the eye, and has apparently yet to learn the connection between doing that and the subsequent pain. So being a bit daft might be a further similarity to brer cat.

We never really sell much on eBay but I had a coat I loved that had got too big, but they're a bit pricey and I thought if I sold it I could put the money towards a smaller one.

Anyway, today I received this in the post.

I'd told the buyer that I hope she'd enjoy it and why I was selling it, and told her how I found to wash and dry it best, and that it had kept Darwin and I both dry and warm when I'd take him out in the carrier and hoped it would last her many years.

We exchanged a few messages as it was for her daughter, who is expecting her own first baby.

Anyway, it was just a lovely surprise bit of post and has just made me feel very happy.

Do you mean Darwin's raincoat? If so, I bought it in TK Maxx, and I think it was £12.99

It's by Skip Hop, and I'd recommend them (though I think they tend to be a bit more pricey through other outlets). It's completely waterproof, but it's not a 'sticky'/squeaky plastic, and it's fully lined in 100% cotton, so they feel ace against the skin. I love it so much that I bought another one in a size up for when he grows out of this one, but it's a duck instead of a dog. I wish they did adult ones.

Awesome, thank you!

I lost Mini Fop II's yellow raincoat on the plane the other week, which was bad because:

a) it was my fault
b) it was Mini Fop I's favourite coat
c) you can no longer buy it from Gap

So this might make a very suitable replacement.

Haven't had to take an exam in years, but just done a Microsoft one for Dynamics 365. I think the nerve wracking part was actually the proctored bit. This is where you take the test from home and someone watches you through the webcam, monitors your screen and listens through your mic. The rules are quite strict too -

- clear walls, ceiling or floor, so whiteboards, posters etc. I ended up taking the exam in my bedroom as it's the room with the least clutter. I still had to move all the Mario and skull stuff out though just in case it was questioned. This is all checked with a pan around the room via the webcam
- no breaks, no food and drink
- they take a photo of you and your ID via the webcam
- the door must be shut and if anyone else comes in the room, it's an automatic fail
- no reading the questions aloud
- they check your wrists for anything written on them and in my case, I had to hold my glasses up to the webcam and show both sides of them.
etc

Anyway, the fact I'm posting this in this thread rather gives away the fact that I passed.. woohoo :)

Thanks :) (and to Grim... too). As I was waiting for the test to start, I was thinking maybe I should have gone to a test centre (the nearest one is about 40 minutes drive from here, but I'd have to get the train) but I'm glad I did it and know that my bedroom is viable for taking exams in, as there might be another one in due course.

I read today that there are rumblings that Microsoft are changing the licensing model for Dynamics, so some of the stuff I learnt to pass the exam, could already become irrelevant just a few days after :D
