My brother opened a box in my mom and dads loft the other day and found a book that he hadn't seen since they moved in there... in 1991.

Oh, what a gorgeous little squeeze she is! Sorry about the squeaking, unless it's a cute squeak. If it's a poorly squeak then hopefully it will be knecthat passes super-quick!

Oh, I don't know, I've never watched Star Wars (well, Russell made me sit through one once, but I don't remember if the Ewoks or Wookie were in it? The first original one). Anyway, they look really similar, like one is a shrunken down, mini version of the other. Also Wook-ie... wok-e... e-wok. Too similar to be accidental. I think more likely its like Homo sapiens and neanderthal, still able to swap DNA. Or poodle and Labrador.

You make some good points but despite their similarities I don't believe they evolved from the same ancestors, they are from different planets after all. Mrs wookie and sez both have a mega-cold now which means neither of them got any sleep and seren can't eat because her nose is too blocked and she spews anything we can get in anyway. Things went south fast.

Ask your son. If anyone should know about the origin of species it's him.

So far the baby falls asleep on me and makes a lot of noises that we keep trying to interpret; basically the same as our cat.

Oh :( colds are horrid, horrid things when they're small. Have you tried one of the boooogy suckers? The bulb ones work a little, but the little suction tubes with the mesh filter are brilliant, but it all depends if you can stomach the thought. It saved me from a lot of sleepless nights when Darwin was small and too poorly to feed without cleared nasal airways.

Darwin will be two (zomg) this time next week. How did that happen? He's a pretty awesome little guy. He's funny, his best friend is a five legged octopus and he is in that information sponge stage where he's just surprising us every day.

I tried to interpret Darwin's noises when he was tiny. All of the NCT teaching was around mewing noises meaning hungry, sharper noises meaning wind, hollow cries meaning something else. It took me ages to realise that every noise Darwin made meant he was hungry. Basically the same as Russell.

We were just talking about the NCT teaching about crying, and the apparent gap between that and reality and reached much the same conclusion! Violet seems to be perpetually hungry. Mind you she slept about four hours in a row today, which was quite impressive. She's also taken to poking herself in the eye, and has apparently yet to learn the connection between doing that and the subsequent pain. So being a bit daft might be a further similarity to brer cat.

Betty is a Pentapus, though we did consider quintopus. They're always purple, these differently abled cephalapods.
