On Friday of last week I cruised past my three year anniversary in the best job I've ever had. [1]

[1] This in no way indicates I have drunk the Kool-aid. My other jobs were rubbish.

Just had my first ever piano lesson. I enjoyed it, but my repaired wrist is quite sore now. Still, it'll get better.

"Piano lesson"

I've long wanted to learn an instrument and we have a pretty decent electric piano.

Good on you Snappa. I've always wanted to play the piano and it's quite a coincidence because my wife's Grandad gave me one last week. It's a Yamaha something or other but it sounds great! I'm going to try and learn how to play it properly.

There's a brilliant book my teacher recommended. I'll post the title when I get home.

Good work! I really ought to get back into playing the piano. I think moving the keyboard down from the mancave and into the living room might encourage me to practice daily.

I'd hoped I'd pick up a bit of the piano when I picked up Keyboardmania a while back, but even though it's only a mini keyboard, it's all beyond me. Especially this stuff...

Thanks for that Snappa, I'll take a look at it. I'm going to the library on Saturday with the kids so I'll see if they have it there first.

Further to my piano playing, our local Church has a pot of funding which they can give out to those that want to further their education. The Vicar promoted it by saying "You know, you can apply for anything really. Even learning to play the piano...."

I've got the form to fill in and fingers crossed I'll be successful and I can get some lessons under my belt.

Isn't that sort of thing for poor people who couldn't otherwise afford it?

I don't think so. What's the point in teaching a poor person how to play a piano?

Nope. It's for anyone who lives in the Parish of the church. It's got to go to a committee to be decided but from what I've heard, not many people apply for the funding because they don't know it's available.

Besides, you know full well that I can't afford piano lessons. All my money is tied up in video games.

Olly was a few days earlier than EDD (and Izzy was a few days late) - they arrive precisely when they mean to ;) unless they get forcibly ejected, of course :DD

I've a wee exhibition coming up on Saturday, somewhat short notice, in the MADE Gallery in Cardiff again. This one consists of photos I took at the very drunken & possibly drug fuelled closing party of the Abacus Arts Centre when 'the man' shut it down to make way for another branch of Boots.

Not high art, but should be fun. :)
