Truly, there are many fine albums that I've long wanted to hears even just once. It occurs to me that maybe, if we are sensible, we might discuss such things.

For example, I've been wanting to hear the Hater side-project of Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden) and some other folks. For ooo, 15 years or more now. I've never seen a copy for sale anywhere, or found any samples. Has anyone ever even heard the damn thing? Or, y'know, maybe even have a copy? :hat: :metul:

He was good when he presented 'The Xtra Factor'.

I'm pissed off I missed out on Gnaw Their Tongues "Devotion" and "Dawn Breaks Open Like A Wound That Bleeds Afresh" CDs. 100 copies made of each and I missed them by MINUTES. :'( I'd also like to get my hands on their "Spit at Me and Wreak Havoc on My Flesh" and "Die Mutter wählt das Todtenkleidchen" releases. Here's hoping for a collection CD when they become a little bigger, maybe.

I'd like to own Zaireeka, and have the set up to listen to it.

I own Zaireeka, but do not have the set-up to hear it. Don't suppose you live in the Midlands, LewisP?

LaceSensor - cheers, yeah - I might end up buying a cheap copy and mailing it to my US-based American missus over in the new world. But, y'know... not if I can help it. Ahem. Still, that's told me that the line-up later recorded as 'Wellwater Conspiracy', so I've learned something most useful.

Nah, I'm far up north. Stockton and/or Manchester depending on whether I am at uni or not,

A mate of mine has it on vinyl though, I shall force him to let me listen to it at some point.

I didn't even know there was a vinyl version! Crikey. I bet that's a bit heavy to lift.

Actually, thinking about it, I remember DLing in the heady days of Audiogalaxy, and finding that someone had used the magical world of computers to make the full Zaireeka experience (at least the one that works in sync).

At least, that's what it claimed to be. I can't remember listening to it much.

I have/had a stereo bootleg of it somewhere, but it's obviously impossible for it to be the 'full Zaireeka experience', in much the same way that 5.1 Surround Sound can't be experienced on a mono radio. *adjust glasses*

At least I think he said it was on vinyl. I may be remembering wrong...

Edit: I remember hearing about plans for an Audio-DVD 5.1 remaster of it coming out, but not sure if it materialised.

One bootleg I always longed for was the time John Garcia (of Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida and Hermano semi-fame) sang for Karma To Burn at Dynamo 1997. That would have been out of sight.

Discordance Axis' 7.62mm vhs and The Inalienable Dreamless Perfect Edition are two releases I'd give my lungs for.

The Napalm Death/SOB red flexi, one of those.

Oh and a copy of Turtle Power by Partners in K.R.Y.M.E, as I wore mine out.

I'm afraid I've not heard it and I'm a huge (and I mean huge) Matt Cameron fan. Not for lack of trying, though.

Bleh, Matt Cameron sucks, I only want it for Ben Shepherd. :munkeh:

Also: coo, I think that's the first time I've seen you say you like a music thing, Mr. Dave. Have you seen the Pearl Jam live DVD? A couple of songs have a special Cameron-Cam, so you can watch him gurn entertainingly as he strains manfully, heh.

The Perfect Edition was in a lovely box, with vinyl and cd versions of the album, a DVD of 7.62mm, and an MD of Merzbow's TID remix. They made five(six, Davydd, you idiot) of them.

Fucking stunning album, though. Buy it. Twice.

Aye, regular version there Lace.
Quote:
"Contains both the CD and vinyl version of TID plus a ltd edition of 8
DVD(thanks to Bryan Sours) of our live video 7.62mm(directed by Craig Schober
who is working on our new live DVD) and a MD version of the TID remixed by
Merzbow. These cost over $500 each to make, the box is pretty sweet ^_^ We gave
1 to Tadashi from HG Fact, one to Hydrahead, kept 1 each and then gave 1 away,
via raffle, at our record release show in June 2000 at CBGB."

I, geekily, have everything else Chang lists there, including the clear vinyl TID.

I REALLY like Discordance Axis.

Which one? (I have 5 of em, two with a gurn-tastic matt-cam)
I'm not going to mention the 70 odd Pearl Jam CDs I own. Or the vinyl collection.

I have 135 Marilyn Manson CDs.

Lots of them are cd single sets, though.

I'm pretty happy with the music I've got. Thanks to the tinternet I can order stuff. My happiest hard to get finds were the African choral mass 'Missa Luba' on vinyl. It has the superb piece 'Sanctus' on it, which can be heard being played again and again by Malcolm McDowell in If...*

The other great purchase was King Curtis Live at Fillamore, which has a fantastic cover of Whole Lotta Love, Memphis Soul Stew and the cover of Whiter Shade of Pale you can hear at the start of Withnail & I. It is the perfect cooking music.

The music I really want and can't get though is each individual complete soundtrack to the Miyazaki films. The ones I've found on line so far have been choice cuts or reinterpretations on piano and stuff. Grrr. I also want complete soundtracks to the Powell & Pressburger films, and I've only managed to get one for The Red Shoes so far. Brian Easedale is an awesome film composer, and they really should rerelease his stuff.

I'm not that interested in bootlegs, rarities and "OMG 2 wurdz are diffront111!!!11" Beatles demos, so I'm pretty chuffed with my lot. Just wish I had the above.

Also got the Witness soundtrack on vinyl, which I like playing in summer.

A fair few of them*, then a fair few less official things. Quite a lot of demos (Some of which are better than the final releases), singles, fan club releases and so on...

* - FOPP doing them at £2 for a show was fairly handy. I'm just annoyed they didn't continue, I would've quite liked the London show I went to last year as a CD.
