Where were we?

Ah, yes:

What were you doing in Oman?

Spending school holidays there (Christmas, Easter, summer). Mostly watching cricket with the houseboy, or snorkelling off the reefs, hanging out at the Intercon bar with some yank chicks, driving across the desert in jeeps, attending a NYE party at the Yacht club. usual teenage stuff, whilst my mates partied it up in Cornwall. Without me.

I would like to find the head honcho responsible for some of the design decisions in Word 2007 and rip his balls off.

Looking back, yes, at the time, no.

You had to be 21 to drink, or bribe the security staff, actually, bribe pretty much fucking everyone.

And never, ever, hit one of the Berber's goats with a 4x4. They get really, really fucking shitty and it costs "fuck how much?" in USD to placate them. And the kids nick stuff from the cars whilst you hand out bananas to their friends who are begging.

Why, you cunt, must I have a section break after creating a small two-column bit in my otherwise one column document? Why, for the love of fuck, does this enforced section break cause all my page numbers to be reset and why can I only fix this by manually removing the section break? Which then returns the two-column bit I created to a single column again.

WHY FOR FUCK'S SAKE WILL YOU NOT JUST DO WHAT I ASK?

Edit: Not calling Malabar a cunt BTW! Just the Microsoft software ruining department head behind Word 2007.

At times, it was irritating, like when I wanted to watch "Fit or Fat", the Bangladeshi gameshow where contestants had to answer questions correctly or run a mile on a running machine.

But i guess his watching cricket and doing housework for $400 a month isn't so bad.

EDIT: It might have been $250, i can't recall.

Shazbat! You edited out the bit about him watching the cricket while doing the ironing, which has ruined my plan to post something about getting in the way of the fielders.

This flat is covered with these huge round stickers

(They're for the Rolling Stones album, Goats Head Soup, for those queasy/sensitive. Having seen them every day, every single time I shut the bedroom door or opened the pantry, or the wardrobe, etc, for 9 years when growing up, I am kind of hardened to them, but I spoiler them for those who didn't have such macabre images pasted all over their childhood bedrooms.)

I found 20p on the bus last night. Win.

Tuesday was the first time in a couple of years since I travelled to work on the bus. I'd forgotten all the joys (surreptitiously oggling the totty in the city centre from the top deck) and woes (spending longer just waiting for a bus to arrive than it takes me to drive to the office, objectionable fellow travellers, suspicious substances stuck to the seats, etc.) but after two days it's as though I never had a break from it..

Shouldn't chuckle, but did. On s72 Sexual Offences Act:

Quote:
....it was open to the jury to conclude that the complainant was deceived into believing he was masturbating for the gratification of a 20-year-old girl via webcam when in fact he was doing it for the father of a former girlfriend who was teaching him a lesson

That's nasty revenge.
