Should a business website be full of shit and dross for the customer to read or should it be short, sharp and to the point?

I'm just trying to prove a point to a mate of mine.

Ta.

Hmm. Poll seems kinda loaded... I almost feel like you want me to pick one over the other!

As long as everything I could possibly need is obviously accessible, I'd agree with you.

Would have done even if you hadn't encouraged me too.

However, if I were your mate, I'd object about the obviously loaded poll.

Your poll is obviously flawed.

The site should be clean and uncluttered on the landing page, but a portal to absolutely all the information that a potential client/customer, etc, could possibly need via a sensible navigation system.

So, your mate is right, the website should have LOTS of information, but you are right in that it should be clean and uncluttered. Those two things are not mutually incompatible.

I don't have time to explain it all now. However it's a removal company. He came over yesterday and for example here is what I put on the packing page.

You should not call them "removal men" you should call them "Stevedores".

Well, it's not a "website" then is it, it's an advertising flyer. So, you need to ask what that should be like :)

Exactly, quick and to the point. No one wants to read an essay when moving house :D

Nobody wants to read an essay when you're selling them something. Trying to get this through to my boss is also impossible.

However, if in my dealings with your business, I ever have to talk to someone on the telephone, you're doing the internet wrong.

Make it web 2.0, baby! Gimme some interactive stuff all up on this mutha.

Also, run something about social network integration up the flag-pole and see if it flies.
