Hello everyone.

Come to the Music Quiz!

It's a great laugh, as the above will all testify. Previous events have seen us winning food, being soundly abused for our team name, accidentally breaking a bench whilst dancing to The Prodigy, singing along very loudly to some classic choonz, and Grim... saying "I know this song! It's great! I used to play it all the time... no idea what it's called though."

Cost is somewhere around the 5 quid mark, depending on how many people we get (more people = less cost per person). It's definitely worth it though, and is a top night out.

Anyone interested in joining us? Or in future months?

This normally occurs within the first round of the quiz, after which all I care about is drinking and girlies.

Dammit! Why do these things happen when I'm saddled with the on-call phone and therefore can't get drunk?

Harumph.

Roughly 7.30 - 10.30, but we prefer to make it more like 6 - 11.

I'm potentially interested. So long as there's space and that.

Dave, as we discovered at the Christmas party, once you sat down Craster and I found we had more space.

Ah bugger, wouldn't be able to get there in time really. I might pop along another time though if I've either booked a day off or blagged some excuse to work from home. I luffs quizzes, me.

Also, is intrigue the one before violet?

I'd been drinking heavily. The best I can offer is vague recollections, rather than facts.

I recally he had half a cider and started bellowing the wrong words to songs and telling us he loved us.
In binary.

We're considering another trip down to London in the summer. I doubt Jen or I (or Ange if she is still down there then) would be any use at a music quiz, but we could provide something to point and laugh at at least.

Groovy. First post amended to add An Dave.

Room for another one or two if anybody is interested still.

Also, Gilly, it really is a good night, so if you guys wanted to join in, the Summer dates for the quiz are:

June 30th
July 28th (but don't make it this one as I'm away in France at the time!)
August 25th

Essentially, it's always the last Wednesday of the month.

Just checking - It's on Rathbone place, right? I wouldn't want to turn up to the wrong place.

I hope to be around a little before 6.

Yes it is.
It can be hard to spot, as it's underground. Look for steps going down from the pavement.

There's a little arcade at the end of the street. It's mostly fruit machines, but it's got some pinball machines and some video games.
We should all go, next time.

It was an excellent night.

:)

The Mangalore Air Traffic Control Team stormed to 6th place. We might have managed higher, but we answered 'Diana Ross' for every single question in the Motown round.

I used to attend a pub quiz where the team name in the worst taste won a prize. We once won it with "The Royal Nepalese Gun Club" after that Nepali prince went crazy and shot all his family. I'd like to think the "Mangalore Air Traffic Control Team" would stand a good chance of winning there as well.

We came up with a better team name, but didn't dare write it down :)

A few days after the earthquake we were the Haitian Underground Quiz Team.

I'm fairly sure I contributed nothing to our score.

But yes, it was an excellent night. Aside from getting lost on the way back to the station. And then lost again on the way back to the station. And then finding a magician. who showed me the way to the station, leaving me only 20 yards away.

So I got lost again.

Dave, is your life an RPG?

I feel quite proud that we are the only team each week that gets a disclaimer read out before the team name. Also, where are my mashups!?

Some songs. Not named, as he didn't put an index card in (it's like the quiz all over again).

Not as far as I'm aware. I do know that on route from Oxford Street to Charing cross, I ended up in St James Park (Place I got lost in #1), Westminster (Place I got lost in #2) and somewhere else (#3)

And I met a magician who offered me women and drugs.
