Increasingly twatish Molyneux offers DLC priced at $50,000. For a chisel.

Zynga sued for inside trading.

Quote:
A group of top executives and shareholders hired underwriters to manage the sale of their shares, creating a loophole that allowed them to sell their stock at $12.

By May 28, when initial investors were legally allowed to sell their shares, Zynga stock had fallen to $6. Yesterday, it struck $3. Locked up investors had no opportunity to sell their shares at the same price as the top brass, and the insiders that did "cashed out at exactly the right time," Business Insider's Henry Blodget writes.

Surprised they can't be prosecuted for that.

Weird to be on the side of EA for a second time, but Zynga have got far too much form in this area, they might as well have been an 8-bit software house in the mid-80s.

They never even bothered to finished the last fucking reboot before quietly pretending it never happened and carrying on with Forgotten Sands.

That said, the story as reported by Eurogamer is confused and confusing so I'm not 100% convinced this is really a new PoP game.

Molytwart requires beta testers for random tapping simulator. Yes, that's right beta testers for tapping at the cube. Just in case they find a bug such as it never opening. or something.

Personally I'm holding out for Cube 2, because it'll have a dog in it.

I'll be disappointed if the 'prize' inside the cube isn't Phillip Schofield encased in carbonite.

On the plus side, it means Zynga will be spunking away a few million more dollars on the countersuit while they desperately try to be the modern day equivalent of Imagine and go out of business in the most spectacular way possible.

Castration! *chop chop* Double castration!

Quote:
Dave Rushton, the founder and president of Utah-based Sensory Sweep Studios, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison and fined a total of $1.2 million in unpaid wages to more than 100 employees, according to the Associated Press.

This judgment resolves a lawsuit filed in 2009 by the US Department of Labor, which enjoined the sales of several Sensory Sweep Studios games after employees claimed they hadn't been paid in more than 100 days. Additionally, the employees alleged that their 401(k) money had been stolen by the company.

Rushton has already served jail time for other charges relating to Sensory Sweep. In 2010, Rushton plead guilty to one third-degree felony charge of failing to file taxes and one second-degree felony charge of "engaging in a pattern of unlawful activity," says the Salt Lake Tribune. In addition to prison, the sentence also included a 72-month probation and 200 hours of community service.

Sensory Sweep Studios was primarily responsible for developing ports and licensed games for the Nintendo DS, such as Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Imagination Invaders, though it also developed some console games such as Alvin and the Chipmunks, or the XBLA version of Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting.

I'd never entrust my TV/films to an always-internet-connected console with a totally locked down proprietary OS anyway (or to any device I didn't have complete control over, basically), they're just moving relentlessly towards the model whereby we rent everything and own nothing, and have to pay them every time we want to watch or play something.

I'm like that when it comes to music but I really don't feel any need whatsoever to own films, games or TV programmes. Once I've watched/played them then I'm generally done. And if I do want to see them again then it'll be so far down the line that it will cost pence anyway.

I'd prefer to own* my games purely because I can wring further value by selling them into the second hand market, but apart from that I feel the same as you because I rarely watch any TV programme or film more than once. 'Renting' music though obviously can GTFF as you say.

*I have quite a few games on Steam/XBLA/PSN but they're all either cheaper games like Limbo et al or full PC games that I picked up for peanuts so I'm not bothered about those. I don't think I'd ever buy a full-price game via these services specifically because I want to be able to sell it on afterwards.

Each to their own innit, my favourite films I can easily watch several times, my all-time favourites I've probably watched ten or more times.

I want to know they're available, at any time, for me to watch again should I want to, without having to rely on a console and/or an internet connection and/or paying a rental fee.

A DVD or a file on a NAS is basically immortal.

Doesn't sound good for THQ.

Quote:
THQ’s stocks have plummeted 46 per cent following the release of its Q2 financial report, in which it told investors that it intended to delay all of its planned fourth quarter releases. It also revealed that a mergers and acquisitions consultant had been hired to discuss other potential strategies.

The publisher reported net sales of $107.4 million with a net loss of $21 million for the period ending September 30. It was an earnings drop of £39 million year-on-year, but the company reined in its losses after last year’s disastrous £92.4 million.

Shares fell $1.52 as a result, closing at £1.50 compared to the previous day’s $3.02.

If you're a fucking moron and want to pay vastly over the odds for old games, the £120 Assassin's Creed Anthology might be for you. True they contain all the DLC for all the AssCree 2s, but most of that was shit multiplayer skins.

I'm like that when it comes to music but I really don't feel any need whatsoever to own films, games or TV programmes. Once I've watched/played them then I'm generally done. And if I do want to see them again then it'll be so far down the line that it will cost pence anyway.

I'm never good enough to finish a game, so I always keep them 'just in case', but also because I am Hordak.

Films are strange. I'll watch one at the cinema and if i loved it, but it on BD. Then very rarely watch it.

But I wait til games are £15 or less, and BDs under a tenner.

Developers, don't mess with Epic, they will do terrible things to your bottom.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/arch ... games.aspx

Court tells Silicon Knights to delete any code that involves the Unreal 3 Engine, destroy any games they have that use the engine and then recall all games in the retail channel that use the engine and destroy those as well (at their own expense).

Ouch.

They may as well have said Silicon Knights have to go out of business.
