That massively sucks. I would change the weekend and screw everyone else over if it would not also screw me over.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it's only Jen that can't come...

I briefly considered it, but I'm not sure I could sleep in a weird place without her. I really want to come though. I will um and ah for a few days before finally deciding I can't make it. but it's cool for I shall win the lottery jackpot fairly soon and then I'll organise another one for all of us, my treat

Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

The second one sleeps 14 more people, and costs an additional 873 pounds. It also free that weekend, but will likely increase the price unless we can fill it (in which case it will reduce the price as it costs slightly less per person (we would, of course, split the cost equally)).

When I call the guy this afternoon (phone number permitting), I'll see if he will do a deal on both for cheap.

Author:  Curiosity [ Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:00 ]
Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

I now have the phone number. Historically we've received a 10% discount for booking direct.

I'll book the big house, and see if he does a deal if we book both. If not, we'll leave that be, unless we get 25+ people confirmed.

I have the nubmer and name of the bloke now. I will call him at some point. Unless anyone else wants to do it for me, as I have a phobia of talking to strangers on the phone!

Can you update the first post to include all the details please?

Also, can you give me the exact dates of this? Is it from the Fri or Sat, as the 16th of October appears to be a Saturday.

Fuck it, go on then, I'm in. Dunno how I'll get there, but it can't be worse than 11 hours on a coach with no breaks to edinbrrrrrgh.

I too hate phones. Oddly though, I actually have a very good telephone manner, when at work at least. If I can avoid answering them though, and especially calling people on them, I will.

As the people in my office have found out, as I solidly ignore a good half of switchboard calls until they roll on to someone else. In my defence, I never know the answer when they call anyway.

I have wonderful recollections of our experiments in the kitchen. Remember that epic peanut butter sandwich cake?

Shame we can't go to this place in the summer. It has a huge BBQ pit outside.

Oh, and I will be enforcing the offline rule. If I see an xbox, it's going in the dishwasher!

That was more focused towards THEM up THERE :P But, ta. It's what stopped me from coming up to Manchester on the Friday in February because a flesh feast was taking place.

You could have had entirely vegi at the Mongolian place. I'm pretty sure they cooked it away from the other meals, too. There was plenty to choose from. Boooo at you.

Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

So I was told, but such was the focus on flesh that it put me off even going near the place.

Author:  Malabelm [ Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:48 ]
Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

There was a lot of meat choice, but far more vegi choice. And such is the nature of the cooking there, the meat comes in very small portions and definitely isn't the focus. You should come if we go again.

Would you think it rude if we gave you a hard time about being a veggie? Because this is coming across as you giving us a hard time for not being veggies.

I expect that will prove to be an academic question since I wager he'll have grown out of his veggie "phase" by the time this happens.

Dimmers, would you not come to a barbecue at my house because the majority of people would be eating meat?

No, you'd not come to my house for a barbecue because I'm a massive twat. Err, I'm not sure what my point is here.

Author:  Dimrill [ Sat Jul 10, 2010 17:13 ]
Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

No I wouldn't go a barbecue of any description no matter who was holding it.

Plus: fuck off about meat. It's a pressure point for me that brooks no fucking joking. Fuck off.

If not the phobia, the F1, the xBox and the Football may have distracted him...

Post subject:  Re: Beex Unplugged!

Right, we're up to 32 possibles. Doubtless not all of them will come, but that's a hefty enough number to consider booking both places, which will be ace (and allow everyone to have a bed).

I will make the call this lunchtime, barring phone-shyness. If anyone else would rather make the call then they're more than welcome to and I will give them the details.

Woah, hang on, what does that take the price to if we book both, that may actually price people out, meaning we can't book both in a paradoxical twist.

If we get 30 people, then if we get the 10% discount and book both, it's 70.50 quid a head, which is fine.

Will Mrs-Bobbyaro-To-Be be joining us? There will be other girls there and everything.
