BOOKED!

I have booked both buildings, so we now comfortably sleep 34 people.

I got the price down from the advertised £2323 to £2100. So if we can get 30 people to come it will be 70 quid each.

I need to pay a deposit of 600 quid in the next week, with the balance in September.

So...

People need to commit to coming to this, and give me 25 quid each as a deposit

People are still allowed to decide later on, but it would be really, really helpful to cover the deposit, as I'm bloody skint at the moment. Any Londoners coming for drinks tomorrow ngiht are more than welcome to give me the cash there. Everyone else, PM me for bank details and you can transfer the cash over.

This is going to be extremely awesome.

What a coincidence. I've acquired a pair of black leather gloves and a length of piano wire.

I am in fo'sho. What time do we have it from on Friday? Would it be sensible to take the afternoon off work?

Not sure. I'll ask him when I call to confirm that I received the papers he's sending me.

I'll try to negotiate to as early as possible. Last time it wasn't until the afternoon, but I'll see what I can do. I'm definitely thinking of taking the Friday off work to go up.

Will drop money through your letterbox later Andy. Will of course be able to offer you a lift at the time too.

Sat 16th wolves are playing west ham at home, so I may pop over for that in the afternoon.

I'm not in tonight, so anything you pop through the letterbox had better have my name on it and be in an envelope!

Probably the friday full day. I'll have had the previous two weeks off so the staff will be pissed off, but minions be damned.

Thanks for the monies from those who have paid. The first page will be kept updated.

Question: Some people cannot use internet banking. If they pay me via Paypal, and I try to withdraw that money, will Paypal steal much of it? If so, how much?

If that's a prohibitive amount, are tehre any other decent ways to get the money from them to me?

IIRC, you can 'gift' it as paypal, and the payee can pay the fee, ensuring that the recipient gets the full amount.

There is no fee for a personal, not-for-profit transfer, IIRC.

3.4% plus 20p, apparently.

No fee if you've got a linked bank account or money in your paypal account.

Sorry - the sender has to have a linked bank account or money in their account for it to be free.

I do appear to have a Paypal account.

How do I go about receiving payment? I've not used it before for anything other than ebay.

Just tell people the email address that is associated with the account, and they can send money to it.

You give me your email address, I send magic pennies to you. Funds instantly appear in your PayPal balance. You have to add your bank details to transfer that balance to your bank account.

Anyone near this route want a lift?

Alternatively, Londoners getting the afternoon off are welcome to come to Bedford on the train with me and go from there (but that might be daft compared to just getting the train straight there).

[edit]Although it will only cost you £25 to get a return ticket to Bedford, but £55 to get to Derby (and then you're still not where you need to be).
