That is all.

I know - we're ankle deep in slugs half the time so I'd like to encourage the little fellows.

We are too. Snails also. The pellety things seem to work, but then you have to clear up dead slugs and snails and solidified slug insides.

Does that beer can thing work?

Who's got the BEEX time machine today? Can you pop back to 1986 and get me one of these? I have 26p in 1986 legal tender for you.

Get yourself down to Tesco - steer yourself world food aisle and get some Sun Exotic Tropical. 3 cans for £1.

To my ageing taste buds it's pretty close.

I have set myself a mission to Tesco in Winchester this evening especially for this.

[edit] Hang on, it has *9* fruits. That means it has (counts on fingers), er, more fruits than Quatro which had 4.

There must be danger in Cardiff. Go find it ;)

If you believe the telly there's some sort of rift in time around that big building with all the writing on it in the city centre.

I saw an advert on the tellybox last night for the new Ford S-MAX. This, coupled with the fact that they also ma(k|d)e a C-MAX, makes me hope that at some point in the future they'll release a Ford F-MAX. The lightly sparkling fish car.

6x330ml bottles Budweiser for £4.

That'll do as I've now finished the taught bit of the LPC.

I'll drink to that.

It's obviously that.

Berners-Lee uses + signs in emails to forward into mailboxes, for example tim+personal@somewhere might go into one inbox whilst tim+retailers@somewhere goes into a lower-priority one (I do this too, but not with + signs). This is valid, if a little obscure, email syntax[1]. He signed up for the Gap website with such an address fine, but when he tried to log in for the first time it failed because the login page (but not the signup page!) rejected the + syntax.

[1] gmail actually supports it -- if you are [email protected] then [email protected] will be delivered to your inbox and can be used for just this sort of filtering trick.

By the time you reach your mid thirties they stop hurting for the most part. Which sucks, because then you have no idea one is about to collapse.

Dude!

She poked about with them, told me I had "small teeth" and poked about inbetween them with a BIT OF FUCKING WIRE and told me off a fair bit AND THEN demonstrated to me how to brush my teeth.

After that, she took me in for an XRay, and told me I needed a filling.

I think she did that as she obviously fancies me and wants to see me again.

Thorough, then? :DD

Last time I went to the dentist they fractured the tooth socket (upper jaw so my skull) removing a tooth. Three weeks later I ran my tongue around where the tooth used to be and when I stuck my tongue out the end of it was covered in blood.

Only then did I realise that what was left of my jaw socket was split and tiny pieces (sharp as hell) were sticking through my gum, slicing my tongue up when I stuck it up there.

Fixing it? God. Scalpel and a fucking file dude. Never again. That was about 12 years ago and I have three teeth that are split in two and I live with it :D

I think that most English babies are born in August as a result of the entry requirements to school. Apparently parents like to have kids who will be amongst the oldest intheir year and so aim for a due dye in August, with a lot of them believeing that July babies are underacheivers although I'm pretty sure in whichever documentary I heard this they were able to disporve the commonly held beliefs.
This doesn't happen in Scotland because the cut of date for our school years is march so if you have some children who are young for their year (like I was) then it isn't by a huge amount.
Sorry for bad English I'm on my phone and can't be bothered fixing my mistakes.

There was none in the shop, although they finally have Fentimans cola instead of mocking me with every variety apart from cola.

I did check the "ethnic food" section as well although there wasn't much of a selection there.

You have to be born in September to be old for your year, at least in the schools I went to.

We've discussed it on the forum before (a long while ago, I think I started it) and there's certainly evidence to suggest it's true. I mean, A September 1st 2000 kid is going to be a year older than a August 31st 2001 kid, and yet they sit the same exams. Maybe it's not such a big deal by the time you get to upper school, but for lower or middle school it makes sense that there's a difference.

SOCO turned out to be a nice young woman called Kate who did the whole fingerprint dusting and careful tagging and bagging of evidence. I was somewhat impressed.
Unfortunately the badguys were wearing gloves but there is hope for DNA evidence apparently..

[is reminded of that bit in The Big Lebowski where The Dude asks the cops if he's likely to get his Credence tapes back]

Speaking about the rough topic (Germans and internment), I've just finished reading a book about life in East Germany. Brrrrr. There's some genuinely chilling stories in it. The totalitarian bastardness of the Nazis was kept alive, just that the state ideology switched from Nazism to Stalinism. What is perhaps most disturbing is that all that continued until the end of 1989.

Speaking of Germans, they had an election in their most populated state at the same time we had our general election. And they've only just gotten around to forming a government. So much for German "efficiency"!

I do love the people moaning about how long our one took, aye. It's funny how most of the ones who moaned loudest were precisely the ones who wouldn't even have noticed that the government had changed in six months if it weren't on every headline.

Hey, true. Only took a week here - miraculously instantaneous by European standards.

Belgium had a national election at the weekend, incidentally, and won't form a government until September. Last time I took them six months after the election!

I vaguely remember the existence of that brand of carbonated sugary beverage. And a similar, later advert.

Hmmm. If only there was a decent, UK-centric 'defunct brand' website...

I note that the USA continues to behave in a dumbfuck fashion with the execution by firing squad this time. That and Obama being a complete knob over this BP thing, I think we should go back over there and sort them out, seeing as it was a score draw last time.
