So. Did the amazing bf thing last night and took my other half to go see Wicked at the Apollo theatre in that there London.
Now, I'm not a major theatre go-er, ive seen a few plays over the years, and while I do enjoy the occasional musical once in a while (my late mother was a musical freak and I grew up on musicals basically, it's a wonder I turned out the rugged bear of a man I currently am... wait... that didn't come out right) I would never actually think to go see one I the flesh. I mean it's just a few people singing songs and stuff.

I can safely say Wicked was incredible, very well acted and sung and the special effects were extremely impressive. Phantom and Les Mis next I think :D

We went to see it last year and really enjoyed it. Its very clever how they intermix the story with the one you 'know' already.

Hmm, Mrs Squirt has been thinking about this for a while. Good to get some feedback!

We went to see Carmen at the 02 a bit back, like the high-brow members of the intelligentsia that we are. Only time I've ever seen an opera, so I have no real reference point, but it seemed pretty good to me. Bloody hundreds of extras, and the occasional juggler and stilt walker.

Nothing at the theatre is ever going to beat Avenue Q for me. Although I did like Blood Brothers a lot.

I'm still trying to find time to see Avenue Q.

I loved Wicked when I went to see it. Oliver! is good, too - when I went Rowan Atkinson was Fagin and was highly amusing. Went to see Legally Blonde a couple of weeks ago - surprisingly enjoyable. Funny, lots of catchy songs and Peter Davison.

I was going to see Legally Blonde, but then Sheridan Smith started twittering about supporting PETA so she can fuck off, now I'll leave her to Grim....

For a play rather than musical, the best thing I've ever seen is Black Watch - just incredible, showing at the Barbican at the end of the year.

Wicked is highly entertaining.

BIG THEATRE GAYER MORE LIEK!!!!

I'd really like to go see some stuff at the theatre. All I've ever seen is The Blue Man Group which was pretty good.

That Avenue Q thing is really really confusing. Worst ventriloquism acts ever..

She wasn't in it the night we went to see it. Must have been the understudy. She was excellent, though.

Within two minutes you stop noticing the humans at all. Indeed, when you do look at them it's strange, because it seems like they're copying the puppets.

To be fair, when going to see a 'celebrity' in a show, chances are very, very high that the understudy will be better at it than them (unless they've got a very strong musical theatre background).

I love musicals, but oddly have been to see zero despite living in London for nigh on a decade.

I really should rememdy that.

Really? I wasn't happy about seeing it once.
If you want to listen to a bunch of Queen songs with a rubbish non-story attached to them, listen to a CD and read the newspaper.

It was a great story. You have no soul.

There's a magic guitar buried at Wembley, FFS!

It was (allegedly) pretty much based on the dire 'Eye' game:

It was shit. There's going to be a squeal (of the musical), which will hopefully be better.

I went to see Les Mis with Gareth Gates in Birmingham a few weeks ago.

Didn't like it.

I've come to the conclusion that these things aren't for me.
