I "taped" 12 monkeys :munkeh: the other day and was just about to watch it now. The first thing I saw was the end of an advert for "The A Team" which was "coming soon".

Please tell me this is just re-runs, and they are not remaking it?
I really can't imagine it will be any good. (although I was thinking the other day if it work as renegades from the gulf war...)

Yeah, they are making a new film.

Hollywood ran out of new ideas a long time ago.

What channel was it on? Bravo have just bought the rights to screen all seasons of the original run.

Oh God, no. This is going to be almost as bad as the Bill and Ted remake, I can feel it.
Still, we all said the same thing about Battlestar Galactica...

Rather smugly, I didn't. I knew it was going to be ace-sticks after reading a couple of interviews where Ron Moore laid out what he wanted to do. "9/11 reversed, where the only survivors were the ones in the towers."

I was consequently baffled when the first wave of reaction from all the review sites like CHUD and AICN was unreserved hatred to the mini-series/pilot. Certainly down to their tedious fanboy minds being unsupple enough to handle invention and change.

I didn't catch any of the hype, someone told me about the mini series as episode1 of season1 was due to air in the UK. So I watched the mini series then went straight into the main thing.

We have a BSG thread for this, people. This is at least the third thread that's gone all BSG.

Oops. I can save this.

So, taking BSG into consideration, one cannot write anything off until viewed. Unless it's a new series of Red Dwarf, obviously.

Imagine, The A-Team could be some glorious Arrested Development docu-comedy. Or a curiously dark and stylish thriller. Or glorious Saturday pap.

It'll probably be mediocre, since it was the chemistry of the original cast that held it together in the view of a ludicrously one-note forumla. But still, who knows, eh? Though considering the balls-up of the new Flash Gordon series...

I'm entirely happy with how the forum is run, I have to say. The threads where people were raging about their posts being editted for excellence were usually locked by the time I got to them. You can edit any of my crap as much as you want, doesn't bother me. As long as, y'know, you don't replace everything I say with 'I like cock', or something. :ninja:

Hahahah.

BSG* has made me never rule out a remake again. Though this will almost certainly suck. Though it would still be interesting to watch it suck. Unlike B&T where it will just hurt my soul.

* Incidentally the 4th season thread really tempts me but I can't because I'm only at episode 17 of season 3. But I'll be in there eventually squealing like a girl. Also the Radio Times put massive spoilers in a thing I read last week. I was very, very upset.

The Radio Times really are cretins, aren't they? I bet it was Alison Graham and her stupid face's fault.

Who's the cast for this new A-Team then?

Mr T - Will Smith's Uncle from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Hannibal - Will Smith's Butler from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Faceman - Will Smith's from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Murdock - Will Smith's Jazzy Jeff from Fresh Prince of Bel Air

(I wrote that for a joke about how Will Smith thinks he's amazing. But now I've finished, I actually want that to be the cast. 8) )

Thanks.

It would have been super embarrassing if I'd posted in that thread.

I concur. I so want this. Bonus points for Will Smith's square crazy-dancin' cousin as Colonel Decker.

The thing is that the original A-Team relied so heavily on Mr T. And the new one isn't going to include him, or attempt to copy him, so it won't be the same. Chances are high it won't be as good either.

I hate spoilers. The spoilers I hate the MOST are ones stuck on the DVDs.

Two perfect examples:

1 - BSG. At the start of every episode they have a frenetic flick through the highlights of the episode. From this you can pretty much have every interesting thing spoiled for the episode. The future-mrs and I now close our eyes while that bit is going on.

2 - The Wire. In the DVD Menu when you select an episode, you are first taken to a screen with the entire plot synopsis of the episode handily written out for you, including spoilers.

It's mental. I want to watch these shows without knowing what is going to happen? What kind of idiot wants to know what happens in advance? Why bother even watching?

My point exactly... so why include them on DVD releases of two intelligent TV shows?
