Had fun tonight. Unlocked a few more cool things, like the crossbow and several Pro perks.

I agree and I think that, for the most part, it slows the pace down a bit and discourages people racing about the map. You can get more use out of the handguns, shottys, and sniper rifles too as they become lethal.

Some of you may have noticed Ramsea online tonight playing this....it's not actually Ramsea, it's our young fella. We can leave the discussion about how bad a parent I am for letting him play codblops online when he's only 8 BUT.......check out this pic I took!!

He's the next Nickachu, he makes me so proud :luv:

'Free' Xbox live weekend and double XP next week :

Pop quiz, hotshot. Your team is dead, you're down to your last clip, and you've got six rookies pointing weapons at your face.

So the question is... how big's your killstreak gonna be?

With double XP in Call of Duty: Black Ops (BBFC 18) all weekend, you'll earn those weapon unlocks twice as quickly. And did we mention new features like custom games, regional matchmaking, and split-screen for guest players? Good.

Sound like fun? There's more, including awesome discounts on some quality swag in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, competitions, tournaments, movies and music.

Xbox LIVE Free Weekend. 26-28 November.

Perhaps it would be good to fix the lobby before such an event - and last night showed that even although they have put some patches on the lobby is still basically borked

Indeed, I don't know how it can be so difficult to match up people in parties? It's not like they don't have millions of people to choose from...

I'm no sure how, it's p2p innit. There's as much chance of lag as any other time, matchmaking might be [more of] a cunt though.

Past experience of MW2 on free weekends, shows that regardless of being p2p, the lag and general shiteness will be off the scale :D

Yay lobbies!

If you're unsure about prestiging probably best to do it then when you can just skip through the levels super fast.

Sorry for just leaving last night...I may have been told off again...

Well tonight was the worst for the lobbies / network that i've ever had.

Spend time in the lobby , if we were lucky enough to get into a game i was in there for a few minutes and kicked (connection is missing or 'you must be signed into Xbox live to play this game' - even though i'm in live and still talking to the others in the party) - once kicked it wouldnt let me rejoin because it said everyone else was in a different mode - rebooting the box got me back in for another 5 minutes.

I do seriously wonder if its people fiddling with things that have broken it today since we saw 'custom' clan tags (different colours) which are unlocked at prestige level 13 but tons of people had them and some of those had not yet prestiged.

Even playing without a party i still struggled to last a whole game - and the games just kept dropping out players - i managed to get to the end of a domination game that started at 6 vs 6 and ended as 2 vs 3 (and it was a close game it wasnt as if people were dropping out because they didnt want to be on the losing side).

I was playing this tonight up at my brother in laws. Had no problems at all with lobbies and that was with three of us connected via the same router on two xboxs. I also had a full connection in every game and it was great, I was winning most firefights where usually I often feel a bit cheated or need to use double the amount of bullets.
I did notice the coloured clan tag thing you're talking about Zaphod, but i was lucky not to experience lobby problems.
I also played my first game of Nazi Zombies and loved it, even though I kept getting frights :)
I wish I had better internets now, I've seen how the other half live and I like it!

It could well just be coincidence that they showed up last night and things fell apart or it could just have been me

Oh look people are also hacking to get funny characters in their tags (like MW2)

I also hope that everyone is reporting people with swasticas on their playercards. If you view playercard you can go to report and click report emblem. I don't mind all the other things but swasticas is a bit far.

Do you actually find idiot children recreating swastikas offensive? I mean, I'm not condoning it or anything, but it's all a bit of childish harmless fun really, innit? Obviously I draw the line at "paki" clan tags and the young Americans who are obsessed with the N word.

Personally I do yes. I wouldn't say swastikas are childish harmless fun. But that might be due to my polish heritage more than anything.

Depends on the swastika. All the ones I've seen have obviously been Nazi ones, though. And I'm not offended, really. Its just so childish and stupid that I can't not report them.

I stayed up late last night playing this with my North American friends, and oddly had far fewer problems with lobbies and connections than when playing with you lot. In fact, we didn't have any issues at all, despite having three Americans and two Brits.

I just finished the single player, and I have to say that I loved it.

I thought the storyline was done well, and...

BIG SPOILERS!

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
...whilst I saw the twist coming (and indeed spotted the couple of times when Mason 'talked' to Reznov and so knew that was happening) I thought it was really cool. I liked the characters more than I usually do (Price and his marvellous moustache aside) and thought Hudson was particularly awesome, and I got sad when Woods died, as he was excellent.

I also thought the voice acting was better than usual (especially for Mason).

The storyline was a bit silly, but they always are, and as SDG said, it kept a nod towards knowing how daft some bits were.

I thought the levels with vehicles were done very well. I especially loved flying the choppers, and being Hudson in the tank.

The ending though. What did people make of that? When Dragovich said "tried?" I knew there was something still coming, and they're obviously trying to say that the JFK thing was part of the same shebang... were they trying to say that mason actually did it? I guess we can come to our own conclusions, but still a nice touch.

As was playing as JFK against the Zombies.

:DD

You're apparently not meant to unlock coloured clan tags until a high prestige, although i think some people have found out how to do early without hacking.

Or a dumb bug to use (i havent done it - and for all i know they will be banning people but to switch the tag to any colour

Go to multiplayer
Select xbox live
Select player match
select your tag on the right hand side
Press B
Go to local / splitscreen
Press up
Press A
you can then edit the tag to have any colour

Its obviously just something they've missed so will be patched and i really dont care if my tag is white - although tonight in a game of domination i turned round a corner and got wiped out with a *SENTRY GUN* and was so hyped to select my ghost class and get back there to kill it before anyone else did and i now have Ghost pro (so no name above me now!)

Yeah, I got Ghost Pro yesterday with the same stroke of luck. Ran round a corner just as Bobby shouted there was a gun there, deliberately ran in front of it to kill myself and luckily respawned with my ghost class just round the corner.

That Unlock is fundamentally broken due to no-one using sentry guns. Probably because in MW2 there was no chance of getting any kills once cold blooded pro was unlocked for most people.

OK, so In a perfect world Treyach (like it's brother Bizarre Creations) wouldn't be making big budget cookie cutter games like COD and PGR for Activision but would be free to make the wonderful small arcade games they are so good at.

In W@W, Nazi Zombies was Treyarchs' Geometry Wars. Small but perfectly honed, spiced with risk reward and wonderful. In the map packs and the new version in CODBLOPS, the formula has been complicated out of the nessecity to create a reason for a sequel, but that first map is still just as good as today.

And they've done it again for CODBLOPs, and I'm not talking about Zombies (or the top down shooter, though I haven't played it yet), I'm talking about ONE IN THE CHAMBER.

It is spectacular. 6 players with one shot kill pistols and knives. They start with a single bullet and get an extra one for each kill. You get three lives. Make them count.

It's hidden under the wage map options and can be played for 10 codpoints a round. (If you make the top three you get 30, 18 or 12 codpoints.)

I've been playing all day whilst ill'd up to my yingyang and as long as you aren't playing against 5 campers it's one of the greatest little games I've played in a long long while.

LAVERECOMMENDS.

I played my first go of Nazi Zombies at the weekend and loved it. Up for some tonight if there are two others wanting to join? Just for a few rounds, then moving into mp.
Not played One in the Chamber yet Lave but I loved the go I had of the one where the weapons cycle every 45 seconds. Which surprised me because I usually don't like free for all (cos I suck) but I finished first!

Hmm, you know those silly cars, I don't like them. But not because they kill me lots, but because EVERY FUCKER IN THE WORLD has them instead of the much more useful Spy Plane. Also:makes Ghost pretty pointless. (I'm currently rocking Spy Plane, Counter Spy Plane and Napalm Strike, for the record.)
