Entire game with timings (Approx 5 hours)

From what little I saw, looks like there may be less jam.

But high on torture.

I wonder if those two guys from work went out to Sainsway's at midnight to get it?

Oh, that's a point, I don't think there was any jam when I played last night. I think you're right Dave.
RE: unsuitable content. It has a warning when you start the game that there are scenes some viewers may be uncomfortable with and has the option to skip these scenes. I would strongly advise the parents in question make sure they do that. Still unsuitable for a ten year old though. Maybe tell them to check that the chat is set to friends only? I'd hate for my nephew to hear what is said over xbox live and probably need to kill myself if he ever started speaking like that.
Not that even with that done it's suitable for a ten year old really but I suppose it's something.

I am assuming this game is not suitable for a 10 year old. The friend concerned knows nothing about computer games at all.

Is this game any worse than the kind of stuff we played as kids in the days before ratings? My gut instinct is yes.

I certainly wouldn't let my 10 year old play it.
There's a fair amount of swearing so far, some pretty graphic torture scenes and the level of violence is what you'd expect with limbs being blown off and so on....

As for it being worse than the kind of stuff I played as a ten year old.... That was back in the days of the Dragon 32!

Just tried Tesco, sold out of 2100 points so didn't bother. Offer is open until the 14/11 so chances are they will get some more in. Looked in Game also, "24.99 with any chart game. All of which are £40, and I don't believe all of them are actually in the charts.
Apparently there was fighting at the A.S.'D.A.'s in Watford.

It was 700 in all the shops here. but very orderly queues everywhere.

Its a shame they don't accept games without cases in trade ins here as I probably would have been able to get it for next to nothing with all the games I don't play.

I too went to Tesco and saw that it was a really good deal with the 2100 points card... and indeed they had no 2100 points cards there.

I'm an idiot though, so I bought it anyway.

Its 'only' £39.99 without though which isnt bad.

BTW in my local tesco this morning at the entertainment desk they only had 2 x 2100 point cards left when i got mine , however at the checkout downstairs when the guy said 'oh I see you got it' they said there were hundreds of cards behind the customer services desk so I wouldnt have relied on one person saying "We're all out"

Tsk codemasters games should be £1.99 !

And as others have mentioned COD (n chips) tends to hold onto its price very well.

If i wanted to buy the last one 'new' i'd have to pay £30

http://bargaincomparison.com/gameprices ... B0021AETNQ

(whereas i only paid 25/26 on release day last year).

If i wanted COD5 it would be £17 http://bargaincomparison.com/gameprices ... B001BEHQKG (still not 1/2 price)
And COD4 is £16 http://bargaincomparison.com/gameprices ... B000RE6ZXU

Still not 1/2 of the £25 (okay i over paid by £2.50 for some points so call it £27.50) that the game costs today.

Just FYI, if you're reading The Sun for games reviews, they're publishing one tomorrow that hasn't been written yet, by "anyone willing". I was just offered the job myself and they didn't care that I haven't had a chance to play it yet. They want it before tomorrow's paper goes to print. Yay The Sun!

The Sun is to reviews what Rod Hull was to TV aerial installation.

CoD 3s multiplayer is still the bestest though (unless this one turns out to be better obv).

You should have said yes , took what Gilly wrote about it (since she's actually played it) and pasted it in between something about hype and blocking out reviews before the game was released (then split the fee with SDG)

I did notice after our games last night you switched to 3 and i was tempted to start it up to try it but my one attempt at multiplayer in 3 lasted around 40 minutes and i couldnt really work out what i was suppose to be doing apart from dying - there was some type of capture the flag stuff but there were motorcycles and a forever timer which didnt seem to be going down at all.

Aye, if you join a player match they can last up to an hour which can make a game of War* with well balanced teams epic :D

Ranked matches only last for I think 20 mins tops, but they're few & far between these days :(
*It's a bit like Battlefield's Conquest mode. You capture/lose points like in Domination but you can only do them in order & the enemy can push back so it ends up like a game of Tug o' War.

They've taken a leaf out of Halo's book and they've got four categories of playlists with playlists within them. So you've got Core, Barebones (YAY!), Hardcore and Prestige, each with Team Deathmatch, CTF, etc within them. This is good.

This never stopped Sinclair User.

Make up something about how its an improvement over the old version, new modes of gameplay and some shit you can get off Wikipedia. Then award it 9 out of 10 (which is the new 73%).

From what I've heard, I might like th MP of this one more than MW1.

However, £40 is far too much to take a punt on.

Multiplayer first impressions - not as many annoying lame things as MW2. They've genuinely toned down the noob tube tosspots and sniper rifle assault cunts. It also plays a little slower than MW2. Not in a bad way - it's a little bit more relaxed. Not quite Halo slow but somewhere in-between, and it feels less frantic and irritating as a result.

Obviously time will tell. I'm sure there are things waiting to be exploited, but Treyarch have promised proper support and patches rather than leaving the biggest game EVER to rot like Infinity Ward did. The fucking utter cunts.

As far as I'm aware, it's still going, it's just lacking quite a lot of its staff. Which isn't too unusual, except for the fact it's mainly senior staff.

And even if they had dissolved, it wouldn't stop activision supporting the game (by means other than stupidly expensive map packs inc. old CoD4 maps) if they wanted to.

So I was standing waiting for my Bus that was going to be 11 minutes so I popped to the tesco opposite. Plenty of CODBLOPS and 2100 point cards so after being nagged by the GF I picked it up. £12.50 each isn't bad all said.

That said the Eurogamer review reads terribly, and is very much inline with my expectations.

Still the GF has been wanting split screen multi since 4, and loved Nazi Zombies so we should get our moneys worth.

It's still going yeah, but it is completely gutted of the entire creative team after activation screwed them all over, so all that really remains of note is the name. Infinity Ward is dead.
