Shopto send out the same stock email for every order. I expect it was an automated one sent after taking payment - usually they don't charge until dispatch, but obviously they've taken it early in order to get it out on time.

Na, I pre-ordered it months ago. I paid for it a week ago and got an email to confirm that. I got a "dispatch" email and text message on Friday saying they'd posted it First Class. I'm not complaining it hasn't arrived yet, but it has definitely been posted.

Yeah because I manually pre-paid for it. Not exactly the same as charging your card without any warning whatsoever on the last day of the month.

I imagine the DLC train will roll into New Vegas though. Fable 2's DLC was pretty weak, so I'd trade Fable 3 in given the choice.

Oh, and Nick, I'll be keeping an ear to the ground on Tuesday. There is a danger of stock selling out though, because there seems to be a fair few savvy gamers around these parts.

Think I might play through the CoD 2 campaign tonight. I've had it sitting here for over a year and haven't even bothered putting it in the tray. Might be fun with my headphones!

It looks like it will be £30 at Best Buy if you happen to have one handy.

I'm just having a quick run through the MW2 single player to get myself back into the swing of things before tuesday.

I have heard that two stores in Glasgow started selling this on Saturday so we're going to pop in on our way home and see if we can grab a copy to splitscreen 'til release day. The problem is that if they started selling on Saturday, they may have sold out already! 8)

Pure Hype.

Get on the train Toot Toot!

(Seriously though, it'll be more of the same. If you are one of the millions that spent an extravagant amount of time of the multiplayer you'll probably know already if you want to play this.)

Played a couple of rounds of team deathmatch. It feels more similar to world at war in gameplay terms than it does to mw. I played world at war a bit but then went back to mw because I thought waw was too laggy and unresponsive. This doesn't seem to have that issue that I've noticed so far.
The extras of modern warfare are there like the arcade style scores when you shoot someone. Not had a chance to play another game mode yet, I think they are locked til you reach a certain level. Will report back when I learn more.
Oh, the cod points for unlocking extras that you wager? They do not unlock guns, only the add one for guns. Guns are unlocked with level as with previous games.

The thread on cheep ass gamer seems to be legit and has images of the offers

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/sho ... p?t=277352

If you don't mind buying the points then Tesco seems to be the one to go for at £25 (if you buy either 3 months of Live or 2100 points - 2100 points is £17 so total spend = £42)

We're really enjoying it. It feels slightly different to modern warfare but once you get used to that then yes, it is just more of the same. The maps are fun and the game modes are the usual. The stats are good, lots of stuff you don't usually get but which is probably more familiar to Halo players. We're going to get a second copy with the shopping in Sainsburys tomorrow. Basically if you liked the others then you'll like this.

Not that I've seen so far however there are three seperate playlists, Core, Hardcore and Prestige. In the core playlist you start with just team deathmatch, mercenary TD and FFA. As you progress you also unlock the others like Domination, Demolition, S&D etc so by the time you reach Level 13 you have all of them available. I haven't yet unlocked Hardcore and obviously you need to Prestige for the other one. I think Hardcore is pretty self explanatory but Pestige will be interesting.

Had a quick go of a wager match last night. You have a choice between low, medium and high buy ins and in the match I played the top three finishers won credits (the cost in the low buy in match I played was 10 and the prizes were 30 for first, 18 i think for second and 12 for third). The game mode was a free for all but with everyone having the same gun and the guns cycling every 30 seconds. You got perks (eg lightweight etc) for getting killstreaks. I finished first :) That must be why I like this game, it's easy for me to be good at it! ;) :luv:

Really enjoying it. when I started it last night I was a bit unsure because the game felt a lot like World at War although I'm not really technical or revieweray minded enough to put my finger on exactly why it did considering it has all the gameplay elements of my beloved modern warfare. So my first few games I was very worried that it was going to be crap. Once I got over that I've been enjoying it and noticed any significant lag issues like were present in waw. Split screen works really well and you can even play some wager matches in split screen.

Decided I'm not going to get this. The excitement of joining the hive mind with CoD games always dissipates within a week, and then I'm left with a nagging feeling that I could be playing something else that I like a lot more.

I think I'll just rent it sometime and play through the campaign. It looks to be an enjoyable enough shooty fest. I still don't enjoy multiplayer FPSs, I don't know why I persist in trying to.

I might buy it if I see it cheap. It's not the same without Sergeant Dimrill :'(

A friend of mine queued until 2am to get this for his 10 year old son.

I am assuming this game is not suitable for a 10 year old. The friend concerned knows nothing about computer games at all.

Is this game any worse than the kind of stuff we played as kids in the days before ratings? My gut instinct is yes.

Your friend should either go with the impossible-to-miss age ratings plastered all over the box or else take the time to find out about and assess the game's suitability for his kids himself. Saying he knows nothing about games is a total cop out.

Looks like they may have upgraded the graphics engine for this. Nvidia demoed this on their new 580 GTX and it looked pretty sweet.

Will see how long the single player campaign lasts before I think about it as multiplayer is no use to me.
