Did she go off looking for tellybox and never return?

There was some mention of having received sad news in that thread.

I was really hoping there would be a big animation of you covering and uncovering your face, MaliA.

It's my fond hope that, should I not post for a while, a thread will be created about me.

Does anyone know what the sad news was? Hope it's nothing too serious, but her absence would suggest otherwise.

I didn't like to ask. I suspect we'll find out and be able to dole out commiseration hugs as appropriate.

Or of course she plugged a 360 into her new TV and has been so transfixed she hasn't moved for a week. Given she was going from a 14" SD to a 19" 720P set I think we should consider the possibility.

Hope mimi is cool though.

Perhaps she's been kidnapped by the same mystical force that stole her biscuit.

No craig either.

From the telly thread:

No, we've had a bit of sad news and I had to return to Lancaster the day after I got to London so I was going to order it yesterday but ended up travelling back up north instead.

I think I am going to go for the Samsung, though - I may have it delivered to my brother whilst I am away so that he can drop it off in the car once I get back to London, as I won't be going back to London for a little while now and they might well sell out I suppose.

As others have said, hope she's ok and she returns to us soon.

Quick hijack - do you have a browser plug-in to set your text to that colour or do you do it all manually? Or is it a bit like Malc's typing torrets?

I certainly hope it's the Noel Edmonds jumper kind of sad but I fear not.

Rest assured that at this sad time I will use this to my advantage the next time "Rainbow Mimi is online" appears on xbox live and the wife says "Oh your girfriend's on" to which I can say "Don't be horrible, something sad has happened to her. You heartless BITCH"

(I am unable to express genuine concern without being flippant. Ever)

I click the little color button on the side. I don't have special purple powers. To make up for the offtopic, I'm going to put added monkeh into Mimi's topic now.

:this:

I generally just avoid threads of condolene or comisseration, unless I've something valuable and constructive to say. I like to think I can deal with difficult things by taking the piss most of the time, but when I inadvertantly apply that to someone else's business, it can tend to go shit.

Hope all is well with those two, mind. I'm sure they are comforted by knowing they can come back on here and take a break fom whatever they are dealing with when they are ready.

Hi guys,

Firstly, thankyou for your concern. I'm genuinely touched that someone even noticed an absence. Craig and I are both OK, but as has been said we've recently had some sad news, a very unexpected bereavement on Craig's side, and we're just having a little bit of time to normalise things.

I have not yet got my tele-box, so I have not been sucked into the new possibilities of actually being able to see my 360 output properly for the first time ever, but soon, soon... Actually, I had to spend all of the money I saved for the TV on some clothes for the funeral, but due to a not very funny chain of events* I will be getting it back in two weeks.

Anyway, Craig and I are both OK, thankyou for all the well wishes everyone, it means so very much. Hopefully, Craig will be taking out some frustrations on the residents of Liberty City a bit later.

We'll be back soon, but thanks again xxxx

They had taken the money from my account three days before, no explanation given as to why they weren't sending. "Of course, we haven't debited your account!" it said - apart from the fact that they did put it through as a pending transaction, which means I won't get the money back for 14 days and it left me with precisely £43 to buy a whole outfit as they had taken the £201 that I had spent in their rubbish store. Let me say again, Gnnngghhh. I found a nice outfit, though.

Oh, also, I phoned customer services three times. You are 10th in the queue. crap music. Phone picked up and put back down again. Excellent.

Bah, rubbish. What store was it? I will refuse to buy my lady-clothes from them ever again.

He means lady clothes for his misses, silly. And his maids and female groundskeeping staff.

Mimi, sorry to hear you being screwed around at a bad time. That is appalling service, and I'd shoot off an email of complaint. Big hugs and condolances to Craig, and to you. Take it easy. :luv:

Thanks again guys. GJ, I have passed on your condolences.

I will be writing a letter of complaint to Dotty P's when we are back after the funeral. If customer services hadn't kept on hanging up when I was trying to get through it wouldn't have been so bad, it just left me in a pickle as there are no decent clothes shops in Lancaster, and it was just a bit more stress that wasn't really needed. I should have known never to trust a site that has a picture of Go Wank on their front page
Image
Can't stand that guy.

Thanks for all the pointing of hugs and so forth.

Craig did have a go of GTA last night, it seems good - a quite sedate start, anyway. Also, I have been corralled into watching the snooker and have a favourite player of my very own - Liang Wenbo.

I think Gwonk does a good and valuable job in society, illuminating pictures of fat naked women onto London buildings. It's no more than those Londoners deserve.

His show also provides bursts of what is effectively extremely low quality porno for those 13 year old boys who don't have the internet or access to those crappy sex "documentaries" on Bravo after 11.

I don't know why people love him so much, he is creepy.

The oven has broken (won't heat up above 100°c) and the hob as well (won't reach a boil), and we don't have a microwave. Cup-a-soup, anyone?

Is there anything remaining in your house that actually still works? You've broken a TV, the hob and the oven in the last week.

He presents a TV program called How to Look Good Naked. I don't really watch these programs, (think you all know I'd rather have the 360 on) but sometimes I catch the tail end of them. I do think he's much better than Trinny and Suzannah (I think that's right) at choosing the right type of clothes for a womans body shape though, they always seem to look much nicer at the end of his show than they used to at the end of theirs (with clothes on I mean).
