Every day is Wednesday now. I'm the one walking away from the camera looking like someone just stole my teddy, this was after about 2.5 hours of fire fighting 2k up a hill. After this pic several re ignitions occurred, burnt about 100 acres of hillside and lasted longer than 7 hours. I can't describe how exhausting it is walking in heavy, insulated fire kit, carrying heavy beaters while literally standing in a fire. 50 fire fighters in unavoidable close contact during a pandemic isn't great so any wealthy landowners lurking on beex: please don't attempt controlled heather burning in high winds on hot days after days of no rain while carrying no beaters, on your own. You fucking idiots. |

I've been popping into work to help out with a few bits though. I already feel like an idiot half the time, I don't need to look like (more of) one too.
