Do the hats come like that, or do you have to sit on them when you get them to make them look authentic?

The latter, helped in this example by a bit of thread keeping it down. I don't tend to wear the forage cap so it's not as weathered as the rest of my gear: my usual impression is western federal with a civilian brimmed hat, which is far better in the sun.

Here's one of me and child v.1 from yesterday evenings dinner time.

Not content with eating his own food, the boy came to pinch a load of mine too. Can't blame him though, the dinner was a lentil bolognese that (despite me generally being a big fan of eating meat) had no meat in it yet was utter fucking delish-tits and probably the nicest thing I've eaten in ages.

The Grilled Sirloin Strips cooked with a Mushroom, Cream and Paprika sauce were divine. Such nice food always comes as a surprise to a lower class Northern pogger like me, but on the plus side it's endlessly delicious.

Pomme frites is a posh way of saying 'chips'.

The Fallout mask has the warning "For display purposes only. Not to be worn while performing any activity" They really made sure to cover their own arses with that one.

And the oven glove isn't actually heat proof. Not that I've tried, but others have.
