I really don't know what to say but this is just down the road from Mali Towers and I BET I am aquainted with him.

Dear BBC News 12-year-olds, chainsaws don't have "blades" they have a bar and chain. Hence the name.

Um... The chain is the blade.
They're right to refer to is as such.

Um, citation, er...

This is wrong. It should be "45cm BAR" etc.

And Jason didn't use a chainsaw.

The bar is the bit that the blade/chain goes around, no?

All irrelevant, because Jason didn't use a chainsaw.

Grim: Yes, that's the bar (guidebar). The chain goes around it. Attached to the chain are cutting surfaces which you could call blades. But in the context they've used the word, it's wrong.

Did they mean Leatherface?

Ask them.

Also: "A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "He was warned about his actions and told he faced arrest or a fixed penalty notice if he did not turn the saw off."

Arrest for what? Noise pollution?

I would shop the head onto the bouncing booby executioners from The Meaning of Life, but I don't want to tread on Dr A's exquisite toes.

At least that stripper is still allowed to wield his truncheon in public, though, so it's not all bad for public fancy dress.

I thought a chainsaw had a bar, a chain round the bar and teeth on the chain.

100% correct, but Jason didn't use a chainsaw.

The Chainsaw and Hockey mask was largely popularised by Eminem wasn't it? Actually did it crop up in Splatterhouse?

I don't think Splatterhouse's eponymous ... Splatter...ever used a chainsaw*. He fought a possessed one though, as I recall, by intelligently punching its menacingly advancing blades into submission.

*Or 'Rick'. But I so rarely get to use the word 'eponymous'.

"Christ, REM have mostly been a load of stinky shit since 'Eponymous'" is a good way to crowbar it in as a non-sequiter.
