Thanks very much, appreciate all of the advice and I'll mod the specs accordingly. :)

BTW, on that site is there a way to save your PC build? A while ago I changed a few things and added everything to the cart but now the cart is empty and the spec has reverted back to what it was, therefore I'll have to start again.

Record your screen and then write a 2000 word blog post describing the video.

A patch for the patch. Still, after the week I had last week I will take it. It's better than Intel telling me not to use the patch at all.

After a lot of trial and tribulation I got Dianoga finished yesterday.

It was an absolute bugger tbh. The new water block I bought has a specific inlet and outlet. And of course, as is the norm it was the wrong way around. I flipped it upside down but it looked odd because then the writing on it was upside down so I had to take it apart, flip the top cover and polish it. Then of course the socket was miles from where it used to be and I only had one option of running the tubes because the block's G 1/4s were so bloody close together. So I had this idea of running straight rotaries in series from the 90 deg to the block. Only the rotaries did this.

Image

It was pretty soul destroying having to drain the loop three times just to find that they were all rubbish. As soon as you put any lateral pressure on them at all they just peed like a bloody racehorse :( Eventually I ran the series the other way around so that the lateral pressure was on the straight pass through and bingo ! no leaks in 30 hours.

Great follow-up video from AdoredTV, locking in that Intel were sending out cherry-picked CPUs for Coffee Lake reviews. (The Coffee Lake Con Job.)

Also covers how motherboard manufacturers have been quietly turning off MCE (multi-core enhancement) on their mobos as it auto-boosted the chips to 5.0GHz, and a lot of retail chips can't hit that (whereas all the review samples hit that and more).

TBH I think he is making a bit of a storm in a teacup out of this. He needs to accept that life is crap and people do things like this. I am still, to this day, ever to buy a burger at a fast food place and get what it looks like in the pic. Instead I get something some poor kid has lobbed together whilst running around on an oily floor. Everything is sampled up like that..

Any way, on the subject of PCs I transported Dianoga to my mother's house today (Dianoga is the bogey rig). If any one was ever wondering what that means (I bet you weren't) then it's the alien thing that lives in the trash compactor in Star Wars. "There's something alive in here !".

I made one stupid mistake, though. Mum's friend picks me up in his very trendy hybrid people transporter (some Japanese only thing, Toyota IIRC) and I lug it all in there and bring it all over. Get it upstairs and realise I have made THE number one noob mistake. When I switched out the GTX 950 to Fury X I tested it on my day to day monitor (32" HP thing) blissfully unaware that the monitor was DVI and the Fury X had no DVI. Even more annoyingly I have a genuine (and very expensive) Apple DVI - DP adapter (active), and left it at home :(

This sucks, because I am here for five days now and Ryan (my pal in USA) and I still game every weekend. Been playing Wildlands, what a game for co op that is !

So I've had to order a cheapy one hoping it actually works. Otherwise my only choice is £30 in a taxi to go back and get it, and being Good Friday they'd probably spit roast me :(

Bloody computers, lol.

Piccy. That is with the Fury X and a modified EVGA Powerlink (that connects to your GPU power sockets and takes them around the back). Looks awesome.

:DD LEDs and something to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. It's a BEEX injoke special. Quick - someone feature this on our website, it'd surely attract more visitors and help new folk settle in.
