Hopefully not the sofas as they look like the kind of thing Jimmy Saville used to sit in. And those stains don't come out easily....

The big circle is painted on the wall. I'm not sure why.

The odd things are: no TV in the whole house, the books in this picture are all bibles, and spot the shower :S

Did the previous owners vacate suddenly in a spaceship made of wood? Are there lots of clothes of the same colour in the wardrobe.

Do the locals refer to it as "that weirdo place".

All I'm saying is don't drink any Kool Aid left in the cupboards.

[I'm assuming "gaming nights" will now become "Jesus" nights]

Shower in the bedroom. Hmm, could have been for someone with restricted mobility, but 200 bibles? Check the loft before you let the kid in :)

Maybe it was an an initial planning sketch for a giant clock, speaker or dartboard.

That's a nice-looking house. The circle on the wall is clearly a stargate, just like the shower in the bedroom is clearly a secret entrance to an underground lair.

That room doesn't even remotely fit the rest of the house. The rest is pretty nice, chap, but definitely decorate that room.

Other than the leather armchair, I really like that room.

I'm not sure. No Sky, that's fo' def'. I'll probably have Cat5 plumbed into the walls so I'll get it all done then.

I don't know how Grim...'s going to cope with the transition from the current place. He'll be wandering around the place completely lost. The Mrs will have to call him down for dinner an hour before it's ready.

No concierge, man. I'm not looking forward to that.
I'm also not looking forward to the view from the windows not being spectacular.
I am, however, looking forward to having my Tomcat in a garage, and it not taking an average of four minutes between leaving the front door and getting outside :)

[edit]I am also looking forward to having two ovens and a hyperfridge.

Your new house looks gorgeous Grim..., congratulations :)

Jen told me last night that if we have our own place by next New Year (which we won't unless we win the lottery or something!) then we should invite you guys up for Hogmany! I was quite taken with that idea.

Good luck finding it. Us country folk all have posh long driveways with big trees hiding us from the riff-raff driving by. You'll have to drive past and listen for the Tomcat.

Yeah, a fair few. Some of them are pretty grumpy, but most are friendly (especially the fit ones). Some can't actually speak English :)

There was a pair of them in the lift with Craster and I during the Firefly party. I said something funny, but I can't remember what, but they didn't laugh. They weren't that fit, but, you know, they came as a pair*.

*Or, at least, pretended to

Is it one very lonely guy keeping them busy, or do you have a lot of IT workers in your building?

They're always going to different floors when I see them, so it's not one guy.

Tonight The Wiff is working late at their service user's christmas disco, so I think it's valid for me to wheel this one out again.

So it is! Thanks, chap.

We took the RC Bowler Wildcat round the in laws' place over the weekend, and the Father In Law is now planning on making a track and buying one himself. First Born is also now very keen on playing with it. He's mastered "FAST!!!!!" but not "stopping" or "steering", which resulted in me having a sore ankle.

Unless I upgrade the engine and get a LiPo, your IC would eat it alive.

Plus, yes, I'd have to turn up.

OR!

I could rig up some sort of onboard camera and web-based control system, post you the Wildcat, and then race you via the internet.
