To balance things out I will try and get some of the easier questions we have got and put them up. Some I can remember

1 R to R T A
1 S S for M, 1 G L for M
3 B B (S H T R)

I small step for man, etc.

3 Blind Bears (see how they run).

Though I'm more familiar with 3 B M.

Is it just me that is teeth-gnashingly enraged by the missing indefinite article from that sentence that would have made it actually, y'know, make sense?

Alternatively "Eww! It's all squidgy!" would have done.

He actually did say the "a" in that sentence. The mic is just rubbish. I learned this at NASA in Houston.

Armstrong kind of, maybe, thinks he kind of said "a" but it was smooshed into the other words, or so he thinks, yep. And not that he flubbed one of the biggest speeches of the 20th Century.

I'll have to look it up on the internet and see if the recording goes "one small step for [bzzzz] man, one giant leap for mankind" which would suggest that might be true, or if it doesn't and it's clear that NASA are just covering for the fact they sent an illiterate into space.

In fairness, whatwith the the 'Merikans speak, the word probably sounds like "One small step fra man, etc"

BBC agrees!

67,800 S at O T.

Had this one on the quiz on Sunday night. We got it right, but it was only a flash of inspiration that saved the day.

Yeah OT is 76000ish these days.

A quick wiki check reveals it was just over 68,000 from 2000 to 2005 or so.

Right, now with the sheet in front of me here are some of the more interesting ones (because I'm sure every one would know 24 H in a D).

A P is W a 1000 W
12 B in a C of W
15 M on a DMC
16 N on a CC
21 G S
32 P in a C S
49 B in the N L
5 V in the A
625 L on a T S
7 Y B L for B a M
88 K on a P
C, L, & M the 3 S

As for how many windows on a advent calender I'm pretty sure Father Dougal opened a window on Christmas day so that is enough evidence for me.

366, I'm afraid. The year is 365.24ish days long.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_year, there were 364 days in an Old English Lunar Year.
That's all I've got. Sorry. :(

I meant at the bottom, under the big heading Old English 13-month lunar year, where it says there are 364 days in an Old English Lunar Year.

Perhaps I should have been a bit clearer? ;)

The awful thing being that I immediately thought of Lunar Year when I first saw it, went to the Wiki page, scoured it twice, and then gave up.

Obviously my scouring skills are pretty rubbish. That's why I don't do the washing up.
