Hello! It is currently Quite Warm Indeed, and I type from the hotel on Waikiki Beach. However, I need a favour. Which, are you probably thinking, serves me right for being all smug and stuff for being on holiday. But it is an unusual favour.

Tesco Clubcard Credit Card - 0845 300 4278

That is the number to contact Tesco Clubcard Credit Card Customer Service. Being an 0845 number, I can't get to it from here in the US.

Could one of you Excellent People be Really Rather Excellent to me and find out from them the number for contacting them internationally? I know there is that 0845->real number business but I suspect that might not work, so a swift call from someone in the UK to find the number would be really handy.

And why would I need this number? Well, in three days time, I'm supposed to be flying to Hawaii from Oahu on Aloha Airlines. Rather inconveniently, after 60 years of service, Aloha have picked this moment to go bust. Which means I need to claim the ticket money back, which means I need to contact Tesco Credit Card.

Also, most inconveniently, we are supposed to rebook via Hawaiian Air. Whose website doesn't accept credit card bookings from a non-US, Canada or Australian address. Isn't globalisation wonderful?

So, as I say, if someone could find me the number there would be gratitude. And possibly sex.*

*No sex

If this is true, I would like to be the first to point and laugh:

The nice man at Tesco wouldn't give me the number, because he said it's on the back of the card (as a +44 number).

Ah, Craster beat me to it. I spoke to a nice sounding lass who told me the same thing, sorry I couldn't help any more than that.

Hope the rest of the honeymoon goes well, though.

We flew by Aloha :(

The credit card should have a +44 on it.

Should have mentioned that... got a dead line.

Hmm... could be the phone system playing up. Will try again.

She told me it was 24 hours, and it is only just before 8pm over here anyway.

Have you rented a convertible sports car and picked up some hitchhiking supermodels yet?

Careful how you go, all cars have inbuilt bump detection systems linked up to GPS and high speed wireless broadband, allowing the police to INSTANTLY respond if you get 2 dents.

Grim... missed this on said site.

FRAUD GEOGRAPHICAL NUMBER - DO NOT PHONE. It sounds very much like tesco personal finance but they call themselves tesco credit card instead of tesco personal finace ltd Do NOT give any details.

The mistake may of course be the warning, not the number but tread with a lot of care.
