You may be sitting there wondering to yourself "Where on earth could I get 80 films of zombage?" and I would smile, nod and say "Why you need to sample Father's Sweeties in Mr McGregor's Dark Chum Alley of Delights."

It is Romero's 70th Birthday today, make sure you raise a glass to the master.

I started reading the Zombie Survival Guide yesterday. I'm not finding it very good so far.

Have you read World War Z?

I read ZSG after WWZ, because I wanted more. It's a different kettle of fish. Decent enough bog book but nothing more.

Yeah.
I knew it was going to be different, but so far it's pretty dull. And some of his stuff in the weapons section is rather inaccurate.

I'm not sure how I'd have felt about ZSG if I'd not read WWZ first. I don't think I'd have enjoyed it as much without WWZ, as that set the scene and got me into a 'read zombie books' mood. I quite liked the crude pictures in ZSG, they were (I'd have thought unintentionally) pretty funny.

I HATE those pics.

I think I've ranted on about them further back in this thread. They cheapen the feel of the book.

Just skip to the case files then - they're brilliant.

I preferred ZSG, to be honest. I read them in chronological order, though.

World War Z was one of my favourite books ever. Who's involved in the film then? If you had told me before there was going to be a film I have managed to forget so I am excited now!
Also, Sara Cox. I :luv: her too. She is so funny on Radio 1, never fails to make me laugh.

They *are*. They make no sense (biological or theological, and particularly Romero's), and aren't scary.

I think I sort of agree with Mr Chris here. At least to the extent that zombies were much better when they weren't so trendy. Trendy things aren't generally very scary.

I think when people get all growed up and stuff they find most monsters less scary though, no matter what they're wearing.

I watched the 'DVD' of Zombieland last night, and loved every second of it.

Very funny, reasonably gory zombie action (although as has been said, does seem to pull back a bit sometimes), wicked soundtrack, and a great little human tale as well, it's nice to see an 'optimistic' zombie film for a change. And Woody Harrelson is just super as ever.

I always support films/games/music/whatever that I 'evaluate' and are good, so pre-ordered it from HMV, even though I'll probably never take the DVD out of the case.
