I'd quite like to imagine you as a mad power lesbian! You didn't come across like that at all, though. It's a very, very sad case and must have ben heartbreaking for the partner.

I don't have one. Mainly because it would now only exist as a source of regret and misery.

Dude, you totally write it so it just lists every thing you did last year. Win!

Nah - that's a normal power lesbian. A mad power lesbian has Hammer pants, flip-flops, a kevlar vest, and a beret.

I was recently asked if I had a list of things to do before I'm 30 (that'll be August 2010). 'Yes', I said. 'I'd like to get my hair cut, and maybe eat a pork pie'.

I don't, and think that the attitude that suggests is a sad one indeed. Loads of fun can be had after 30 - indeed, I'd say possibly more. For example, I look forward eagerly to the day when I can join the legions of old men pretending to be mad in the head and run around town acting like a complete lunatic. It must be brilliant fun.

Same as in Australia, I suspect - the stuff they export here is revolting gnat's piss, but the stuff they keep to themselves and real people there actually drink is apparently very good. To be fair, chances are that foreigns only hear about the vile swill we export en masse(say, Carling) as well.

Is that the more obscure, expensive stuff you see in Walkabout - the Tooheys and Victoria Bitters so on? I think the whole thing is just laziness and stereotypes and jokes they know people will get. All English beer is warm, all American beer is watery, Irish people drink nothing but Guinness, etc etc etc.

Canadian beer is usually thought of as either Labatt's or Molson, but everyone actually drinks Rickard's Red (or White, sometimes) and Alexander Keith's as both are good and widely available, with other brands like Sleeman and Upper Canada also putting out decent brews. I suppose it's true of every country, the best beer isn't necessarily the one that's widely exported (Beck's is good and all, but everyone knows there's far, far better stuff in Germany, for example. Weissbier ftw!)

I need things to do before I'm 30. I haven't long now.

POWER LESBIAN.

I'm terrified to know what Jen's title is then... when I played Rock Band with them at the weekend it was pretty obvious who was giving the orders. What comes above POWER LESBIAN? I haven't got my lesbian chart to hand.

Up early tomorrow to travel to the sunny seaside town of Colwyn Bay* for two days of meetings with work. This isn't going to be in the least bit fun.

I should definitely be in bed, but I'm clawing back as much of Thursday as I can before giving it up.

This programme about twins (The Secret Life of Twins, BBC1, iPlayer) is fascinating. I'd recommend it if anybody is bored.

The Tropico 3 demo is great fun. Had to tear myself away. I love the radio broadcasts and the humourous tips too and customising your dictator is a hoot - though the parking garages are a bit too big and ugly in my ickle opinion. Still, looking like a buy.

Tropico 2 was rather good fun, IIRC.

In Paddington Station with 30 minutes to kill. To Krispy Kreme or not to Krispy Kreme, that is the question.

Conversation on train this morning -

Old lady with friends - "we're all off to paris for a long weekend together, as our husbands have died recently"
Me - "oh, I'm sorry"
Her - "our husbands have just died"
Me, assuming she didn't hear me - "I'm sorry"
Her - "OUR HUSBANDS HAVE DIED"

Whoops.
