At least your eyes were not so bad that you couldn't see it - that would have been grim... Really, that sounds horrible though. Strangely, I live in a town that is a student hub, and I have never seen vomit on the floor ?:| Maybe they have been poisoned by pot noodles :P I think it is freshers' week, perhaps? Hopefully it will calm down.

Apols - didn't see this til now. Yeah, it's freshers' week(s). Just have to ride it out til they run out of cash. It's normally bad anyway, but especially so at the moment.

[edit] Just want to clarify: the journey didn't take ten minutes because of the vomit. That'd have been really nasty. Wading through it and all. It's just that I saw so much vom on that ten minute journey.

In other news, The Wildhearts were great tonight. :metul:

That's quite alright! I am having an invisible day anyway.

I keep clicking on your little flower to your blog, by the way. It always wants to be clicked on - it's s bright and cheery :) My music knowledge is poor, so I am clueless about what I am reading, but I enjoy reading it regardless :)

Aww, thanks! I keep meaning to write more on it, but am lazy. Do you like that video (most recent post), by the way? Fun, fun stuff. Very friendly - if strange - band too.

I thought you'd just got hold of the CCTV feed from my flat - it looks like a pretty average day :P Actually, it is good fun. I actually clicked towards the end of the video and saw the music section before the little dramatic bit, and I might have disliked it, but I saw puppets so watched from the beginning, and that made it wonderful :P

I like that your little youtube windows are pink. I've never seen that before. it actually elevates you to the very top of the internet.

I saw them perform in front of about seven people, in the cellar of a local pub, the other week. They're mad. But they were rolling round on the floor and dancing energetically, even with so few present. It was nice.

You're too kind. I love pink. Partly because it provides such an effective juxtaposition with my usual musical diet of heavy metal, and partly because I just love pink. ;)

Best. Party. Ever.

It had tons and tons of dancing with everyone trying to pull off the most outrageous dance moves, loads of drinking, excellent outfits and glow sticks everywhere. It also had great conversation, loads of laughs and a wee bit of drama ending with me literally taking a guy by the scruff of the neck and marching him to the front door which I then threw him out of. Excellent stuff. Here's a pic of my visor.

It was some drunk guy that no one seemed to really know very well. I had already kicked him out of the gazeebo because all the girls plus a gay guy were out there for a wee while and he kept trying to chat up my sister despite everyone telling him she was married (to Jack69hoops) and her telling him where to go, then he had a go at the gay guy because he found out he was gay and he was being really agressive and getting in the gay guys face. All my friends told me not to make a fuss though because at that point we didn't know who he was so they said if we just warned him then it would give him a chance to behave.

Later on though we were inside dancing and he came barging through everybody and grabbed my cousin around the neck from behind her and pulled her backwards then didn't let her go despite everyone shouting at him, so I grabbed him and dragged him through the house to the front door, opened the door and chucked him out onto the grass. Keeping in mind the fact that my friends had told me to try and be calm, I then very kindly told him that if he wasn't fit to walk I would call him a taxi although he would be waiting outside for it. He had the cheek to then say he'd happily get a taxi if I was going home with him so at that point I lost my patience and shut him out. none of the guys had known about the first instance of him causing trouble because they hadn't been outside so the girls were telling them while I was kicking him out so all the guys thought it was hilarious when I came back in and matter of factly told them that he wouldn't be causing any more trouble :)

Property Law and Practice, Business Law and Practice and Civil Litigation await me, before seeing THE MAN at 2pm and leaving for home at 2.15pm.

Am going to stick my pushbike in the back of the car, and drive to the park and ride where it's free to park, and ride to college.

How can you possibly differentiate N, M, and H with 3 pixels?

Take a look. It's very impressive. But don't forget, as long as you are reading English text, your brain will do a decent job of figuring out which letters are which based on context.

By using the position of each pixel element in relation to each other, the colours used to trick your eye into filling in the blacks and 666 bummed and slaughtered goats.

OK. I've looked at that, and had a good zoom and things. Am I missing something fundamental, or is it not just impossible for those letters to be 3 pixels high?

Look at 'E' for example. At it's very basic, you need to be able to define the horizontal bars using five pixels of height - on off on off on. I can't see any way that you could possibly not be doing that.

I've attached the letter 'E' from the site, zoomed (not resized). It is quite clearly 5 pixels high - so I don't understand.

I think that might be because of the rules of type. I assume a 3px font is defined by the lowercase letters without ascenders or descenders.

Oh. I've invented a 1px font - but only for the full stop.

Yeah, you're right. It's the minimum readable size, then anti-aliased to be more readable.

The 3 pixels high definition is possibly how fontographers define the size, like the height of the body of the lower case letter without ascenders and descenders, or something.

Something to do with ascenders and descenders.

Ascenders and descenders were first invented by Apple in 1978.

OK. I've looked at that, and had a good zoom and things. Am I missing something fundamental, or is it not just impossible for those letters to be 3 pixels high?
It's using subpixel rendering to cram 9 pixels of information into 3 normal pixels of height. This is why they look coloured when you look closely -- because they are coloured. The E looks blue, for example.
