I had to use a Tesco earlier. This distressing experience was made worse by a girl bounding up to me in a headset telling me that I should use the self service till not wait in the queue.

Listen love, I'm a fucking customer, it's not my job to take items and make them go "beep".

I did give it a go as it happens. I did think about accidentally not swiping some items but then remembered the video I made about EPOS fraud systems and decided against it (hundreds of miles away on a some god forsaken windswept industrial estate a video will be being recorded of you swiping which also knows what items you are swiping).

They won't do anything if you make a mistake anyway. I managed to miss off some curtains when I last shopped at Ikea. I had my receipt checked by security on the way out, noticed the mistake, and had to pay for it. In supermarkets, the staff will happily override any errors without checking into it at all, so I doubt you'd ever get caught unless you were acting very suspiciously. I'm not condoning stealing, mind.

Can someone remind me the name of utility you can use to resize animated Gifs?

I know it was mentioned but can't find it.

Dead cute girl did just that for me at Tesco the other day. Her passcode was "2222", which I'm not sure being that cute quite makes up for. I missed half the login code though, so couldn't quite get away with a free shop.

I'm sure this can only be £2.99 well spent...

Here's hoping some hateful child is given that instead of the proper game when he asks for 'Guitar Hero' for Christmas, and tantrums so hard his head bursts.

It says it is made by Activision - do you think it is? I mean, did you buy it at a reputable outlet, or a market stall, etc?

Well as reputable as Home Bargains is I guess. It's properly licensed with 10 tracks on it but on the back, as well as saying Activision, it says it's made by Basic Fun Inc. China, which inspires no end of confidence. I shall try it out now and report back :)

Going out as a friend of MrsA's and an ex colleague of mine is leaving for Munich. I think there'll be an ex girlfriend of mine also in attendance.

Looking forward to that one, then.

Right, we need it to have 20 different songs, and...

Sorry sir, we can't do that. The best we can give you is ten. Otherwise you'll need to approach our sister company, Advanced Fun Inc.

They've captured the spirit of the GH games - you can't play the 10th track, 'Jessica' until you've played the previous 9. Well I say track, they're about 30 seconds long.

Oh and you have to play it on the hardest skill level for the notes to bear any relation to what you're listening to.

Also, the instructions don't explain how to play the long notes properly.

Other than that... well worth £2.99 if you want to create a sizeable bulge in your trousers.

Bike behind us just lost its back end and lowsided into a curb. Biker is okay, bike isn't too bad: bit of fairing damage, busted radiator, broken clutch lever etc.

Rach has managed to burn her hand on the exhaust picking the bike up, the idiot. Didn't think to warn her.

Nasty stuff.

Neighbour's friend has parked the car across our driveway. MrsA has parked our car on the other bit. I'm currently not amused and am going to get someone to drive and visit us so they can move their car.

Dropped kerb? Call the police.

When they don't arrive (end of the day, hardly critical unless you've got to get a disabled to an appointment), shit on the bonnet.

They went soon after I posted, so no biggie. I would have preferred them to ask if they could do it though. I think it's the lot from a couple of doors down.

They don't have a driveway. That's why I'm wary of them. nasty, foreign looking types. The bloke's got a nice motorbike though.

I'm going to a 31st birthday party tonight and the theme is 'rave', so we have to dress in 90's neon style. I have a purple and yellow top witha bright pink visor (the visor part is see through) a bright pink necklace, neon wristbands, neon heart earrings, a glow stick and whistle to wear around my neck and glow bracelets. We have to walk through Saltcoats wearing this to get to the party. This is very much not my style, I hope I don't see anyone I know.

Lots of people have had a nice day today. But also, some people that you don't like got what was coming to them.

I was going to write more but I realised how like a horoscope it was starting to sound...

Your visor doesn't sound as good as your other hats.

I have spent many hours of my life lying on the floor in the bathroom feeling sick.

What is it about doing this that makes you gradually feel better?

I was just asking Jen there how long I was talking about my RB character for last night. When we were trying to join the game last night we restarted the console about three times because the headsets weren't working. Three restarts to figure out that mine wasn't plugged in and Jens was muted. I don't know how I'm going to manage to face all the alcohol tonight.

It is the calming comfort of knowing that you are nearby the sink if you feel like you might be sick. You relax more than you might otherwise do if you were in another room where you might have to make a dash for the bathroom. Plus the floor is cool, so the waves of heat and nausia are calmed a bit, so you start to relax. Laying on my tummy helps, too.

I have now been promoted to lying in the room next to the bathroom and upgraded DSi to laptop.

Also, thankyou mystic Albino :) The only people I dislike at the moment are the bell ingers at the catherdral who have been ringing the same peal for three hours now. Actually, they might be having a GOOD day, as if I weren't feeling ill I may have strangled them by now.

a) your lady friend has been doing her eyebrows with them and they are in her make-up bag

b) they are between the cushion and base of our armchair

c) in the drawer with the knives and forks.

To Gill: Technically, rave was late-80s. By the 90s things were moving on to ardkore. Sounds like a good outfit though! I dressed up as a glam rocker last week and it was a lot of fun.

To Mimi: Spurs did rather well, innit.

One of them probably fell and the others thought "bugger this, it's late enough for the pub now", that's all. Although my bank account has just received a 5 figure influx at the exact same time, so make of that what you will ;)

Yes sadly the music of choice tonight will be hardcore I think (or at least it will be until we all get sick of it and insist on something better). I think I'm going to stick some neon make-up on as well. I don't think I'll allow any pictures :p

If it's legit early 90s ardkore it should be fine. 2 Bad Mice, Acen, maybe a bit of Black Dog etc.

If it's modern hardcore, then you have my sympathies.

Oh, and pics or it's not happening. ;)

No. That task has been subcontracted to myp. We had a try after the pub last night. Sorry, we should be able to get most of the vomit out.

Has anyone seen my tiny electronics tweezers? I've been looking for them for an hour now :S

are you using them to fix my laptop?

No. That task has been subcontracted to myp. We had a try after the pub last night. Sorry, we should be able to get most of the vomit out.

I went to the optician's today. It took about ten minutes to walk there. There was so much vomit on the pavement. I hate students.

As for tonight plans: Wildhearts guest list = yay! Them apparently playing the new album in its entirety to open the set = less yay.

Awesomesauce - Ikea desk and chair built, laptop+monitor moved to it, along with printer, and now NAS and homeplug. To fit the NAS and laptop into one Homeplug, my old ADSL router is now acting simply as a router, so the laptop can drag media off the NAS on the local bit, transcode, and stream it out over the homeplug.

I love it when a plan comes together. Especially when it involves several devices featuring multiple flashing lights.
