FUCKING Manchester. We left the pub after three pints and watched one tram leave as we came over the bridge. We got onto the station and another one arrived and left while we bought tickets to avoid being done for the MANDATORY FARE of £100.

Naturally there was then a huge gap in the service and I was dancing a merry dance of DESPERATE NEED FOR A PISS and contemplated going to piss down by the station elevator when the tram arrived several ice ages later. Thankfully a seat became available and I was able to hold it in for a bit. Until we got off at GMEX, and Bik assured us it 'wasn't far'. I stumbled awkwardly along trying to avoid JohnCoffeying my pants and even suggested just popping into a pub we were passing but Kate said 'I don't think they'll let you.'

Every street seemed to be lined with CCTV, everywhere was busy, I was absolutely desperate. I could hold on no longer, my bladder just shrugged and prepared to give up, I shouted 'KATE! HELP!' and she suggested 'go there!' and I did... a tiny little alcove under the overhang of an office building, where a previous visitor had vomitted. THANK FUCKING JESUS HIMSELF. I would NOT have survived the 'only a short walk' to the pub without stopping. Suffice it to say, half our little entourage immediately scrambled for the toilets when we finally did arrive at the pub.

So yes, FUCKING MANCHESTER. No toilets at the station, no toilets on the wonderful modern tram network, no public toilets anywhere.

Apart from those brilliant open air ones at Piccadilly Gardens.

I'm reasonably not-too-embarrassed by the (so far) few photos with me in them. Excellent.

That one from my house with Babestation on the telly could probably do with an NSFW tag on it though.

At least 3 times, people offered to buy me drinks and I declined, saying I was just about to get one for myself and MrsP, only for me to ask MrsP what she wanted and her to say 'Oh, Kalmar/Bik/Someone else is getting me one'. So, thanks for the offers chaps, and thanks for keeping the missus in drinks :)

For some reason, I'm always stuck on my ‘decline any offers of generosity’ mode at the start of a night, hence my confusing decline of your drink offer, then walking up and buying one for myself anyway. I did manage to let Curio and 118 buy me one at some point (apologies if anyone else did and I've forgotten) and bought a few for other people. I'm so shit.

We saw a woman using a very open air toilet on Portland Street when walking back from the posho meal. Whilst shrieking blue murder at her friends to wait for her, she sat with her skirt hiked up, her privacy not particularly concealed by this fence:

We were nowhere near that, and I was already fit to burst after waiting for that bastard tram. I was just about to go behind the elevator at the station when the tram arrived.

Speaking of forgetting, nice of Zardoz to repress shaking my hand about a million times, declaring me 'the Henry Rollins of BETEO'.

Speaking of forgetting, nice of me not to mention the fantastically lovely Meaty Angel and Mrs. Angel. Mongolian all you can eat vets, represent.

Probably some other stuff too. Can we have a meet when it's a bit warmer? I want to wear less next time.

So, to exactly how many people did I explain my plan of drinking two pints of old peculiar to catch up with everyone, and then tailing off with something lighter? Or was it the same person I kept explaining it to?

It all fell apart when generous people started asking what I was drinking, of course. Possibly this was how I ended up at the quiz machine with a pint in each hand, and falling into an English Panic when somebody came up to shake my hand.

Also I apologise to those of you who I stared at and grinned unsettlingly for several minutes at a time. I was almost certainly trying to remember your names. I still don't know the name of the woman who sits opposite me at work after three weeks, so don't take it too personally.
