£400 isn't a budget for a PC you want, it's a budget for a PC you need.

I can't believe Microsoft have forced me into buying a game for the PC, the dastardly fiends!

If anyone has ARMA and fancies playing it, I now have the Anniversary Collection.

Totally speculative question which has no relation whatsoever to the big parcel wrapped up waiting for me to get home on the 27th...
Can apple macs use steam? What sort of games can you get on steam? When does the steam sale run 'til? How common is it to find things which don't run on apple macs?

Yep, there is Steam for Apple Macs. You can play some Valve games on it. including Portal and TF2. Here be a link:

Get over to http://www.humblebundle.com/ and pay over the average price (currently $5.17) and get 12 great indie games, all which work for Mac and all register on Steam (and Steam for Mac).

Also, my quick picks from the Steam sale as far as Mac games are concerned:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/37600/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/104100/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/26800/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/22000/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/29180/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/26500/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/113200/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/38740/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/3590/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/35800/

Some of them are a bit obvious, or you might have played on other platforms, but I've enjoyed all of those. Especially The Binding of Isaac.

Plus, of course, you can use Boot Camp to install Windows on a Mac nowadays, allowing you to play PC games too.

Steam breaks Macs. I'd just forward the parcel straight onto me if I were you.
