Meh. Jokes don't work that well in binary, I must admit. I bet the Doc got it though. :)

I don't get "the joke", what is "the joke"? Please to be explaining "the joke" now.

Oh man. I'm not doing very well today, am I...

It was supposed to be a joke at my expense, being an old twatto and all that, unfeasibly trolling some impossible forum hosted by one of the first ever post-war thermionic valve based computers, ENIAC. Since these machines had only very low level interface abilities - basically a bunch of 'machine code' binary numbers - that was the supposed content of my 'post', an 8-bit binary number.

I thought it was dead funny and witty likes, being the veteran geek that I am. However, it would appear to have fallen flat on its arse, tumbleweed, thread killing stylee. If you have to explain a joke etc.

/checks armpits for B.O.

Oh. I thought there was more to it than that, but couldn't work out what 0x91 was supposed to actually mean. Particularly as ENIAC wouldn't have used 8 bits to the byte, as it predates the entire concept of CPUs with a meaningful word length. Also: for a decade after Eniac, we mostly only had 6 and 7 bit character sets.

It's OK, Dimrill has some crayons. But they are all only shades of green for reasons best known to himself.

This should have had a poll. Where is our democracy?!

Actually, as you say, we never even realised it was time so you must be doing a good job. I don't know what's happened behind the scenes so much but I've seen you doing a lot of topic splitting so you're obviously active.
