Try the main roundabouts in Telford, if you follow the markings that the council painted on the roundabout, you end up being fired off the turnign before the one you need!!

Nah, there's more 'merkin & English folk than Scots in Edinburgh. If you go slightly further out you might meet locals, they have a funny sing-song accent & like salt 'n' sauce. How long are yies up for?

You'll be OK as long as you stay south of the river.

:D

Actually you should go further north, or at least out to the coast. Edinburgh is unpleasantly touristy and Falkirk is kind of our version of the midlands.

Everyone south of the river sounds like they're from Berkshire, if kalmar's anything to go by.

In the next isle there's big ovens and barbeque sets. They're the final meal solutions.

I clocked in at under 90Kg for the first time in a very long time this morning and broke 40mph on my bike just now as well.

I went on a ride this afternoon with a chum of mine and we stopped for a break beneath the Humber Bridge in the sun which was a rather splendid way to while away an afternoon.

Today is a good day.

Takes the piss a bit:

"You can have a refund OR, if you want us to send you the ticket for a show we're not going to put on anyway, you can't have your money back".

So AEG get money for printing a ticket, rather than putting on a show, which is, frankly, shameless.

Actually, it takes the piss A lot. Sadly, I think a lot of people will want the tickets, Jackson fans being mentals.

Can I interest you in a bridge?

What I'm saying is, the company are taking the piss by selling a ticket, for a concert that isn't going to happen, for full face value. Which means they get loads of money for not having to do anything.

Bear in mind they'll probably go bust and nobody will get anything unless they can stay afloat by offering (mad) people the chance to own a commemorative souvenir.

Except that those that do choose the tickets do so for one of two reasons:

1) they're mental
2) they're counting on it being worth more than the face value in a few years.

What they're actually doing is selling souvenirs, not selling gig tickets.

I'm aware of that, I am of the opinion that it's a bit of a pisstake to make their own situation better than it would be otherwise. Nothing more.

They'll have been pretty well financially gutted by the cancellation of those gigs. I can't begrudge them doing something that doesn't hurt anyone to try and offset the millions of pounds they'll have to refund that they no doubt no longer have.

You say pisstake, their shareholders say "bravo!". If people want to buy them, why shouldn't the company take their money? I bet they'll make a ton of cash off this off, and more power to their elbow. It's capitalism, innit?

Very much so. I think it's both clever, and sly, and the use of the word 'pisstake' along the lines of :

"Shit, the gigs have been cancelled, we've got to do something as we're sat on massive loss of profits"
"Hey, boss, why not sell them the tickets?"
"You dolt! There is no concert"
"No, boss, the actual tickets"
"Robinson! You're a genius! DO you think they'd fall for that?"
"Well, they have already paid a premium to see an old star, way past his prime and in reportedly poor health do 50 nights"
"Get on it!"

If you think AEG are going to be in financial trouble because of the cancellations, you really don't know how big AEG are.
