Round here, it only paused for about a month, and some people were still looking a bit anxious, putting their stuffed bins out in hope (it was publicised, but some people never heard and never looked it up). |

Whuuuuuut! I feel your pain. Will bonfire pollution ascend? I was smoked out of the garden a couple of times on the warm days. Local council have suggested that with a respiratory infection around, perhaps hold back on the bonfires, but still people were reluctant to put piles of detritus in a corner of their ample gardens. There again, given the scattering of people who kept their garden waste bins out, a fair number of people had no idea about guidance and suspension anyway. |

I was soaking my cardboard in water with washing up liquid for about a few weeks, stripping and stirring it daily until it’s a pulpy mess and then mixing it with the garden waste and shoving it in the brown bin. Cardboard makes good compost. |

Relatedly, the tyre has come off my green bin but the wheel remains intact so I'll have a go at violently kicking it back on tomorrow. Those happened at the same time as a completely unrelated me, running into the bins with the van incident. |

Glasgow (or my wee section of it in Battlefield at least) seems to be having some kind of recycling collection crisis, the private blue bins and the very few street ones are full to bursting all the time at the moment. It's not even just the 'everyone is working from home so more packages with recycleable packaging to dispose of' thing because it's been totally fine since lockdown started in March up until very recently. I've actually found myself roaming the streets with a bag of crushed cans and folded cardboard looking for somewhere to offload it. Eyes flicking briefly over the private blue bins that are accessible from the street, before grudgingly rejecting the idea. The world isn't so lawless. Not yet... |

Here is a picture of our new house, with our new (well, new to us) bins out the front. The previous occupant unhelpfully left the bins full up, but did at least move them down to the kerbside ready for collection day, which to be fair was the day after we got the keys so really it's not a big deal. |

Aw thanks, and all i had to do to get a lovely set of bins like this was move away from all my friends and family and everything I knew for eleven years  We are very happy tho, it's a really nice house that we had admired from afar for a long time. It's not as big on the inside as you'd think, based on the outside view (but it's still pretty big to be fair). |
